Test the compression. Pull the muffler and see if it is clear or clogged or loaded with fuel. Take a look at the Piston and cylinder and see if they are scored. How much carbon inside? Replace the spark plug, its cheap. Inspect the intake for cracks and gaps. -HF

The old high oil ratio mixes were for SAE30 oil. Since then 2-stroke oil has been invented and improved, lubricates better in smaller quantities and smokes much less. -HF

Well, that just happened. Left side screw just stripped out. It still has a bit of grip. The left side has the bottom bolt on the carb plate which helps hold the carb secure, and I put a little gasket silicone on both sides of the paper gasket, being careful not the block the impulse hole...
