    Pioneer P25 fuel line/filter

I don’t have an answer, but I wanted to congratulate you on your find. Years ago, when I was actively collecting/restoring saws, I acquired a lot of Pioneer saws and they became my favorite “old” saws. Love the design, color , the logo, the sound, and the torque of the P saws.

People don't yet take battery operated chainsaws seriously.

I just retired from work that involves my driving from Utah to mountaintop sites in Colorado. There are soooo many dead trees on the access roads and many times I wish I had a battery saw to grab some wood without the USFS folks hearing me.

    Stihl 024 Problems

If it’s not the fuel line, then it’s the impulse. If that’s leaking then your carburetor will lose the pumping action from the motors compression strokes.

    Need another saw and advice

I like this answer. When I cut firewood, I take two saws to the mountains. But I only run one unless I get in trouble. It’s too much work for me to clean/sharpen more than one when I get home. So if the 261 is big enough, buy it as your main tool with the 290 as your backup.

Replaced gasket on stove door now I really have to force it closed?!

Most of time my new gaskets aren’t as tight as I would like, so I’d say be thankful for a good seal and give it more time to form/seal.

Dropping a Few Trees This Weekend Next to the House

I have dropped hundreds of trees in the woods and I was about to give you a bunch of tips, but I think the best advice I could give is to tell your landlord to hire a tree service. They have liability insurance. You do not. Too many things can go wrong.

    A Huge THANK YOU...again

I was just going through some old papers and I found a spiral-bound notebook which I used to track your donations during the MS660 fundraiser I organized back in 2009. It was for my brother who had just suffered a massive stroke and was buried in medical bills. Most everyone here that regularly...

Any one cut fire wood with a "vintage" saw

Yes...I used to revive old saws for little money and give them to my friends and neighbors who needed them. The Pioneer P40 I gave away some time ago is still going strong. Good saws...ton of torque.

A good laugh, was going to buy a saw off a guy today. Warning foul language.

Sounds like a a bunch of testosterone being sprayed from both sides. But the real questiion to me is why would anyone even get worked up over a MS311?

Judging cord amount by log truck load

That's sounds a lot like what I see in Utah. But we got about 13 cords, though. I'm pretty sure about the amount because I hauled every split load from the staging area to someone's home and my trailer holds exactly 2 cords. I don't mind doing one such load a year, but to do it for a living...

Reccomend me a splitter. 2k$ or less

Setting up rounds used to kill my back. With my splitter, I grab a round from the pile, split it, drop into a cart, and wheel it to the stack; never having to bend all the way to the ground. 100% agreement with you on the noise, though. Don't like it. So with that said and getting back to the...

Reccomend me a splitter. 2k$ or less

15 cords a year? I did 22 cords one year, but usually average 4-5. For that much wood, I personally would consider saving more to buy a faster kinetic splitter like the Super Split. My Ariens 22T works for the amount I bring down off the mountain, though.

    Firewood Measuring Sticks

Let me tell you why I mentioned not working alone. I, like you, would cut alone at times, but rarely. I skipped the chaps at times. Essentially, every time we do something unsafe...and get away with it... we reinforce the belief that nothing will ever happen. One day, I was bucking a large pile...

    Firewood Measuring Sticks

Very good review and pics, Philbert. Looks like an interesting idea. But I think this "stick" might encourage someone to cut wood without a helper to pre-mark the cuts. Cutting solo is not a good practice. So I'm wondering if this product is creating a worse habit than the problem it's solving.

    1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Some of these MPG numbers seem a bit exaggerated, unless you're driving around a 2WD model. The truth is that there ain't much difference between the MPG of ANY Cherokee and a 1/2 ton pickup. I personally wouldn't haul wood in a Cherokee. If you need a family vehicle and a wood hauler, buy a...

    Log splitter quit running

I'm pretty decent at fixing small engine carb issues, but I had a snow blower fuel problem the other day that left me scratching my head. I threw up my hands and bought a Chinese carb for $18 and solved the problem. One thing not mentioned (or I missed it) is a blocked tank vent. Try running it...

    Log splitter kinetic or hydraulic??

I can't help with the question of which one. I think it honestly comes down to personal preference. I don't think anyone has ever posted a bad review of a SS. Never heard of Bradley, but I did look it up. Looks like a lot of splitter for little money. Wonder why it's not mentioned more. Maybe I...
