    Returning Phone Calls

I know around here often times contractors in other trades will not call back, or say they will but just keep putting it off. Don't see whats wrong with telling someone "no" and that your too busy.

How many oak varieties are there?

We have like 70 species of trees here, so I think I'll just be seeing white or red in my travels. PHEW!:jawdrop:

    Kubota Transmission Question

We tried out a gear model today, was real easy to drive. Have to say I really don't mind it. Plus, its $1400 less, which is a definite plus. Not really sure the HST is a necessary thing. Especially considering that amount is an attachment or two.

    Kubota Transmission Question

Is there any noticeable loss in power? People are always saying simpler is better, but I just don't agree, same thing was said about cars, but look how relatively problem free they are now. Knowing Kubota has been in business for quite a while, and people say good things overall about them is...

    Kubota Transmission Question

We were looking at the L3240. Probably going to be mostly used for getting logs out. With so many accessories it seems like what you can do with a tractor is endless.

    Kubota Transmission Question

We were looking at maybe buying a new Kubota. I'm just wondering what the opinions are on the 3 available transmissions? Theres the hydrostatic which seems nice and easy, except for having to hold down the gas pedal to go forward all the time. The glide trans seems real nice too, no pushing...

    Building shed for firewood

I'd say shingles, pretty simple to install, and sometimes can be found cheap if you don't care about colors.

    Wood that wont burn?

That stuff won't even float, threw some in a lake, sunk like a rock.

Newbie - Need help with choosing a ChainSaw

I have a Jonsered 2141, think its now the 2240. I have a 16'' bar, plenty of power for most anything. I think I'd want to buy new, not reconditioned for a saw, full warranty is good. In my opinion for a smaller saw like the 445 I'd rather have a 16'' bar, I'm definetly far from an expert...

    Storage in unheated shed

Am I the only one who cuddles at night with my saws? (Chain guards on, of course!)

    My New Husqvarna 359

I'm located in the midcoast area, about a half hour north from Bath.

    My New Husqvarna 359

Is this just a bolt on, or is some carb tuning required to get it right? I don't like the looks of this chain one bit, I figure its going to be replaced real soon. If I'm correct, I should be able to go and ask for a Jonsered 2159 20" chain, right?

    My New Husqvarna 359

Thanks. I was almost going to go pro saw, but the more I got to thinking, the more I realized I didn't need that much power and features. And, when this popped up on ebay for $130 off retail I couldn't resist. Can't wait until I can put some gas in it and fire it up!

    My New Husqvarna 359

After much debate and looking I finally ordered a new saw, it finally arrived on Tuesday. I think I'll be very happy with it! One question, do I need to do anything special for break in, or first start up? Its a Husqvarna 359 with 20" bar:

    ME/NH/VT GTG Rumford, Me

    I saw it on Ebay/Craigslist

I'm not as much of a old saw buff as alot of you, but thought this was interesting. http://maine.craigslist.org/atq/1709826600.html

My woodpile is growling at me..

I saw a story in the paper a few weeks ago about a raccoon. It was rabid and actually chased a guy up one of the boats at his boat yard. The coon even tried to climb up after him. Being in a metal building his cell phone didn't work, so there he was being pursued by the critter. Eventually...

    346xp Pricing?

Yea, these are both from a dealer. I was looking at another place, same exact saw was $20 more, and was charging $10 over the $489 base price with an 18" bar. The cat version has a green gas cap, correct?

    346xp Pricing?

I found a 346xp today with an 18" bar with replaceable tip for $479. Now, here's the thing, I can get it for $464 in the box. The lower price does not include assembly, adjustment, and filling with gas and oil. My question is, is it worth paying $15 more, or is this "adjustment" just a load...
