    Homie 750

Just picked up a beautiful one cheap. It's missing the rear handle support (not sure of the official part name) and the spikes. I haven't seen the handle support on the bay, anyone know of a source? I know- no pictures means BS!

In NY, 99% of the time a saw would not have a wrap handle. I have them with and without dogs, they dissapear sometimes.

    Hey Gink!....what'd think!

Hotsaw 8x8 - YouTube Put your firewood saw up against something like this. BTW, this was five years ago, there are much faster saws now.

    Hey Gink!....what'd think!

I am not, what I am describing is the difference between bracket racing your mom's olds and running a top fuel car. Maybe turdlicker was a bit strong, but a gutted muffler and massaging the ports does not win a big contest. For example, one time I cut 3.46 seconds on 10X10 pine with my 3120 cold...

    Hey Gink!....what'd think!

Of course it all depends on what someone thinks winning is. I think of contests like Webster, Fryeburg, Seneterre and others like that. GTG's and turdlicker (poser) shows don't count. A lot of small contests have been won with a stock saw and a good chain.

    Hey Gink!....what'd think!

It all depends on what you regard as winning, what type of race and where it is. I can think of 10+, who through the years won real races. In the east, over the past ten years, that number is less than five. There are only a couple right now with a couple more coming up.

    390 pipe build

Actually, Webster wood is 12 inch Tulip (Yellow Poplar). Basically the same size as a 10x10.

    390 pipe build

I have run a lot of race saws. My suggestion is straight back and the belly of the pipe in the high position you showed. You want to have the pipe tight in and straight. The "jet effect" is real. Don't worry about heat, if you get it that hot, a burned hand is the least of your worries.
