    MS250 won’t run right.

Yes, but it didn’t change what the saw was doing. I may try some Seafoam.

    MS250 won’t run right.

Hi, my MS250 starts okay but won’t stay running or idling. It dies when I use the throttle. Sometimes I can keep it going if I pump the heck out of the throttle but it eventually stops. Not my favourite Stihl. Thanks for any suggestions on how to fix it before I drop it in the metal recycle bin.

    Power Wheelbarrow

Just wondering if anyone has used a gas or electric powered wheelbarrow? Some have wheels and some are on tracks. I was thinking of getting one to haul firewood but there are a lot of choices out there.

    Pole pruner kit

I have used a Jameson pole pruner for about 10 years. It’s been a very durable piece of equipment and I haven’t had a problem with it. I usually get a new saw blade every year, the 16” one being my favourite. The only downside is the pruner attachment is a bit heavy but that’s because it is well...

    2000 Husky 365

Just wondering if a 365 in that age range is a good saw? I have a 1987 266XP and it has been a beauty.

Bowline on a bight pulling trees over

I always use a running bowline to pull trees down. Never had any problems with it and it always unties easily.

    Cover Tree Wound?

I thought about hanging a container of some sort under the limb. I’ll ask the client if that would be okay. Not very appealing to the eye though.

    Cover Tree Wound?

Sap from a broken White Pine branch is dripping onto a customer’s deck. Is there a safe way to cover the wound? Thanks for any ideas.

You really should shut your saw off after each cut. Also, your free hand and arm get very close to the saw blade. One of these days the chain could be moving and/or the saw could kick out right into that left arm. Good luck.

Advice/tips on starting part time residential tree service

Just wondering if you have had training in proper pruning techniques? Besides removals, most tree service companies do a lot of pruning. Good luck and don’t sell yourselves cheap. I did that when I first started ten years ago and I regret it.

    hand saws

I like the Sugoi too. The scabbard is pretty durable and if you get the proper file it can be sharpened. The extra length is a bonus as well.

Just wondering if there is a recreational tree climbing group near Campbell River or Comox?

    Stihl ms 261 c m tronics won’t start

Hole in the fuel line maybe? I’ve heard that problem can mess up a good saw.

Jobs you walk away from because of the owner

I have a hard time working for rude people. Cheapskates are no fun to deal with either. Sometimes I’ll give a high estimate and hope they don’t call back or will refer them to an expensive tree service. There are too many good clients out there to have to work with jerks.

Oops. My last post was empty. I was going to suggest Jerry Beranek. He has good teaching videos.

    Best hand saw?

I have a Silky Zubat and a Sugoi. I like the Sugoi better as it is a bit longer. It can also be sharpened with a special file. They are worth the money for sure! Have you thought of a small chainsaw though? Stihl MS150's are a great little saw and light too.

    MS 250

I never had much luck with my 250. If you tried a 261 you would probably have six of them.

That's exactly the way I like to pull down leaners.

    Contract climbing

Good question. How about charging your regular rate for climbing per hour minus the equipment costs you usually have to charge for your jobs. Don't forget to add in the travel time. If that doesn't make sense, I've had too many beers tonight.
