    Hydraulic Motor Help

If the outflow side of the motor is straight back to the resevoir, with no valves, no quick disconects that can pop apart, then yes, Low pressure stuff can be used. If you are returning the oil through a Control valve, Then there is a chance of reversing the system, then I would run...

I want some opinions on a splitter valve I have never heard of before!

The Problem with your scenario, 5 inch Cylinder with 4 inch ram, Is that during the 2.1 second return stroke, the piston end of the cylinder has to return 43.65 GPM of oil to the tank (5 inch ram x 18 inch stroke = 353 cubic inches of oil, or 1. 528 gallons, 1.528 gallons in 2.1...

I want some opinions on a splitter valve I have never heard of before!

At a High Level, 1) only works on the extend stroke, not on retract. 2) significantly increases extend speed, how much depends on cylinder geometry. 3) Since we cannot have a free lunch, it reduces splitting Force the same percent that it increases speed. To add to point 3, this...

Different take on a log lift

Did anybody else notice the second Hydraulic ram that he is not using? Looks like you get the speed of the small ram, and if you need it, you can bring the other ram out to help split tougher Pieces....Looks like a well thought out Machine!

HELP with current hot water heat

Ah yes, never thought about useing the heat exchanger for an On Demand type setup..... A valve would be necessary between the tee on top and the tank..You would have to turn it back on if you choose to use gas to make hot water....

HELP with current hot water heat

I will take a shot........ For this to work, there has to be more lift on the heat exchanger side of the circuit, to force the warm water down into the water heater tank. With the top of your tank being nearly level with the heat exchanger, the "Lift" of the heat exchanger side is not...

I could not find a picture, but back in the day when taking wagons downhill with the horses, we had a contraption that we used to hold back the wagons. All it was was a plate of steel, about 10 inches wide, and about 1 Foot long. the sides have 1/2 inch plate steel welded perpendicular...

Pressure & white oil in hyd tank

That is quite the Machine.......Much Bigger than I had imagined! I had pictured a skid loader for some reason! I Would lean toward an Oil Analysis, Just to Know for Fact what you are dealing with.

Pressure & white oil in hyd tank

No, the suction line is probably the biggest line on the machine, and would run from the bottom of the resevoir to the Pump. Probably pretty short. It can get tricky, depending on the Machine, For instance, our Case Loader has 3 Pumps, and it could be in the suction line to...
