    Top Handle Extravaganza

The Jonsered 2139T & Husqvarna 338T are both easy to work with. I have worked with a MS-201 but prefer the 2138T & 338T which I have both of.

    Bucking Trailer Build

Very nice! - I didn't see any type of stop/fence to keep the cut rounds from rolling off the catch chute. I would hate to hear some on was hurt from rounds hitting them.

    Iowa 2015 Fall GTG (October 17, 2015)

Stihlx8 has a good point that having a contractor do the excavator work will probably be cheaper than you renting the excavator, paying for the fuel, & delivery/pick-up of the machine. If you were planning a month long job where you were paying for 3 weeks but getting 4 weeks of rental it might...

    Stihl 08 no start

    - Tank vent is a short length of fuel line with a set screw pushed, not screwed into it. If the set screw is screwed in, it will cut into the fuel line causing a seal instead of allowing it to vent. - Take off the air cleaner & dribble a little mixed gas into the carb then try starting it by...

Planned on adding a canopy to my tractor a few years back. Then realized since I wasn't using for field work & was working around trees, I would just get it hung up with tree branches. So, a hat & dress shirt with long sleeves is my choice.

    Cutting/Splitting for a Children's Camp

Charity cuts are always fun to do, in spite of the weather at times. The distances folks will travel to help others for free can be amazing. It is not uncommon for folks to travel 2-4 hours each way several times a year. There are a lot of great folks on this site with huge hearts!

    Iowa 2015 Fall GTG (October 17, 2015)

Even with 1/4" wall tanks, unless you have the sides very tightly packed tight, I have seen them crush downward & required vertical supports inside. How high from the creek floor does the water get during a normal storm & how high during extreme ones? If the large culverts were reinstalled...

    firewood tractors

I use my tractor mainly as a loader tractor so I do have fluid filled tires. It does make a big difference. There is a skidding boom on the 3 pt most of the time which adds even more weight. I am able to pick up entire trees up to around 20" breast height with the grapple & move them around...

Sawnami, I enjoyed the show up until 1:45pm when my daughter-in-law who is 8 months pregnant said it was time to go. Some awesome pilots! Finally got to see the upper level of a C-5 Galaxy. The cockpit is huge! Sadly, it is raining here. Someday I will be able to get the hay done, just not...

    Iowa Charity Cut -

Sounds like you need a GTG just for loading pallets after each charity cut. Or just use the loader bucket to fill the dump trailer & skip the pallets.

Would the groves help with lubrication similar to the oil rings in an automobile?

    13 HP Harbor Freight motor

I have a 13 hp Predator engine with a 16 gpm 2 stage pump. 100 + cords on it, works great. Love having electric start in winter.
