    $1,300

If i made the purchase now it would be a 390xp with some brand of 28" lw bar, not sure which and whatever money was left would go towards a woods port job by one of the fellas here. If i waited, ms661 mtronic.

    the 461 owner reviews thread

Dad just picked one up. Good torque, feels heavier than the 460 i had, might just be me. Little easier on fuel than the 460 too. But id say if you can find a 460, try and haggle on the price of it. I dont think it was enough of an improvement to pass on the 460 if both are available.

Stihl guy is gonna buy a Husky

Skip the 346xp. It was a good saw 4 years ago. 550xp or 562xp. Best saws in class. Period.

You guys happy with your 372xpxt's?

I prefer the hightop on everything but the 576 actually. I think the traditional 372, 390, 395 look is the best looking saws out there. Then a jred 2171/72, then a 660.....

You guys happy with your 372xpxt's?

I was actually asking a comparasion between a 562 and new 372 with that post....but i understand what your saying.

You guys happy with your 372xpxt's?

I know rpm wise they can hang with a 372, but what about torque? Itll wear a 20" mostly but i will have a 24" too and i tend to be heavy handed.

You guys happy with your 372xpxt's?

Cool! Thanks fellas! Ive decided for the time being im gonna go one saw plan and get another gun or two instead of two saws. I was looking heavily at the 562xp, but im gonna go with either the xtorq or 2172 instead. And the 576at is a little more cumbersome than id like for a one saw plan.

You guys happy with your 372xpxt's?

I saw pics of the screws but i have no idea what im lookin at. What part is the limiter? I know i know. Im not very mechanically inclined.....

You guys happy with your 372xpxt's?

Ive been reading alot about the 372 xtorqs and 2172's but nobody has really said much about how theyre holding up. Alot was talked about seeing how they would compare against the saws they were replacing but nothing more than that. So i know they've only been out about 2 years, but are they...

    New Saw poll

I know you said your lips are sealed about this but you DEFINATELY have my curiosity peaked!!....i voted gun mike. Only because i dont think any saws listed are your cup of tea lol. You seem to be a 90cc guy. So i say get a gun and hold out for a 661

    576at and 390xp weight

So i take it brad is all for the 390xp lol! Theres just something about that saw. Everytime i see one or hold one i get a warm, fuzzy feeling. Based on looks alone, its my favorite saw. I sold my ms460 over a year ago and havent replaced it yet, one of the reasons being i cant decide what i...

    576at and 390xp weight

Im surprised nobody weighed a 660 in that thread. Thanks guys for the link. Hey mike, did you like your auto tune 576 ehile you had it, or would you buy a 390 again?

    576at and 390xp weight

A long time ago somebody posted pics of a 390xp fueled up and on a scale but i cant find it even with the advanced search. Im thinkin about running my 2 saw plan with a 390 now instead of getting the auto tune. I figure with the 390xp not weighing much more on paper Its worth it for the extra...

    Stihl 441 Magnum CM

I use stihl's winter oil. Blue jug. Works great. And welcome to AS

    Ms 661

Does the 461 use the same muffler as the 460? And i wonder if theyll will use the same muffler for the 661 as the 660? It would be nice to put the factory dp muffler cover on these saws, especially if they do end up offering an mtronic option!

    Ms 661

If you already have a 660, id wait then. Youll never have trouble finding parts for them:rock:

    Ms 661

Yea i wouldnt call the 461 a dud, just a bit of a let down i guess.Theyre still a great saw. And yes, the stiffer av springs are nice. I handled a new 441cm the other day and the main part of the case didnt jiggle around like jello.
  18. M

    Ms 661

So if i was you and you were wanting a big stihl, id get a 660 now. Worst case scenario is the 661 comes out, its totally badass but has a few kinks to work out, give it 6 months and by then you coild sell your 660 and buy a new 661. So all in all your looking at 18ish months. Thats not too bad...

    Ms 661

Safe bet? Compare the 460 and 461. New air filter cover, slightly better fuel eff, slightly more choked up. Not exactly what i call an "improvement". More like clogging up the 70cc market more. Now if they add spring av, mtronic option, and maybe even shave a little fat off, im on board for one...
