Homie 360 diaphragm by spark plug NLA, help?

More than likely the spring is broke and needs replaced.

Homie 360 diaphragm by spark plug NLA, help?

Might try re-tensioning the spring. Take the two spring cover screws out while holding the cover so it doesn't spin once the screws are removed, then turn it one rotation clockwise and see how it is. If it still needs more tension, do it one more turn. I did it with the 360 I picked up recently...

Homie 360 diaphragm by spark plug NLA, help?

That saw could be 48 years old as the 360 came out in 1976. I would still pull the saw apart and check the intake boot and the fuel and pulse hoses/lines. They most likely have never been replaced since new. I just picked a 360 a few days ago and so far it runs just fine with just a new fuel...

372 xt - Is there any hope or did I buy the wrong saw?

I own a 372xt, IIRC it's dated 2016, what were the first years on these? I have heard of intake boot issues, bad clamps? So far mine has run quite well but I don't use it all that often. When were the bearing issues resolved?

My new to me Echo 452VL is sad :-(

I know this an old thread, but wanted to share my super clean 452vl I picked up a few days back, could nearly pass as new......:)

    Stihl 028

I've used the replacement two leg electronic coil/module on the earlier 028's with the three leg coil with no issues, the saw runs great.

    Echo cs-6702

I noticed the OP's saw has a compression release on it. Wondering if the over-seas saws had more compression than the U.S. versions?

Was wondering about a particular EBAY seller

Interesting, just when I thought I'd seen it all, how long were these sold and when with that recoil? Was there a special reason that recoil was used rather than the common ones normally seen?

    Vintage Chainsaw Collectors Lounge

I'm currently resurrecting another vintage Stihl 031av, while doing some random searching on the net I came across this image of one, owned at the time by an Aussie. It's the first 031 I've seen shown as being a "FarmBoss", seams odd being that the 041av was still in production and as I remember...

What’s the oldest saw you run?

I bought and made this old beast a runner again several years ago, sold it to a buddy of mine that collects the oldies.....I still regularly run my vintage Echos, Stihls, and Huskys...... 😎

    Echo 440 EVL

I've never owned a 500evl before, but looking at IPL's of them, it kinda looks like the cam for points is still on the crankshaft. Whenever you get around to it, check and see if yours has the cam and the mounting points for contact points, maybe it could be switched back to point ignition.

    Echo 440 EVL

If yours is an EVL model rather than a VL 500, chances are good the electronic coil/module is going/gone bad. Those are tough to find and pricey when they are found. I have a 500vl with points ignition and it runs as new.

    Echo 440 EVL

Here's an image of a 440evl crankcase assy, the barb on the right is for the oiler hose, and the left is the impulse hose barb.

    Husqvarna 181se cylinder/piston

Here's the 288 that I owned and sold several years ago.

    Husqvarna 181se cylinder/piston

Stroke is the same on the 181, 281, and 288 at 38mm, bore is the same between the 181, 281 at 52mm, the 288 is 54mm. I'm quite sure a meteor piston can be had in either 52mm or 54mm, same with cylinders. The 288 kit will work on any of them, but again, the OEM 181 cylinder has a smaller...

    Husqvarna 181se cylinder/piston

I'd stick with the 181 top end, they have a smaller combustion chamber than the a 288, I owned a 288 and sold it in preference to my 181's, here's my shelf queen, I also have one other as a good user.

    Husqvarna 181se cylinder/piston

I think you should be able save both the piston and cylinder. Personally I like the original full skirt pistons and would do whatever it takes to save it, the thin rings are getting very tough to find, what shape are they in?
