    Woodshed build

Thanks. Front 6x6s are 8' tall, with notching for the top band. I chopped 9" off of the back row for 1' slope over the 11'6" depth, as the back row of piers are 3" lower than the front due to ground slope.

    Woodshed build

Thanks, I wasn't originally going to use bracing, but I decided it would look good and really stiffen things up after I got the frame assembled. Also, I had a ton of older PT 2x6 decking from a friend who replaced his whole deck last year. It's weathered, but otherwise in great condition...

    Woodshed build

Just thought I'd share a few photos of my woodshed in progress. 11'6"x24', 6x6 posts on 8" concrete piers set 36" deep. 2x8 band boards and roof joists, 2x6 corner ties. I'll be finishing the roof joists this week, getting galvanized steel for roofing, and then working on the base.

    Stupidest Repairs Ever Witnessed!!!!

As they say, when you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail! Being an electrician, many of my projects/fixes/rig jobs use electrical supplies. ;)

    Oregon RMC Equivalent?

Oregon DG is the equivalent... Baileys doesn't sell DG, only DP which has the guard link... Carlton's is EP, WoodlandPro (Carlton) is SC.

    Dolmar 7900 "dirty engine"???

The base saw is exactly a 7900 with different colors and a smaller p/c (also the cat muffler). Changing the top end will be no different than doing the top end on a 660 or similar pro saw.

So I'm curious, what do you guys do for a living?

28, IBEW electrician by trade, specializing in temperature and process control installations, instrumentation, PLC's, and the like. Started burning wood this past winter when the wife and I moved to a new house with a bit of land. Have a 6 month old boy now who takes up much of my life :), but...

Outfit the new Dolamr 7900 with Bar & Chain Setups

Sprockets don't really have a gauge, only pitch. Match your chains to the bars you run, which it seems you have done with all .050 hardware... Seems like you are good to go, enjoy it!

Outfit the new Dolamr 7900 with Bar & Chain Setups

How about this bar to go along with your choice of 24"... Bailey's - 30" Carlton Premium Sprocket Tip Bar Great bar at a great price. 20", 24", and 30" works good for me.

    cylinder kit: Mahle vs Deco

Deco? I thought that was an abbreviation for decompression, as in it has a decomp port. edit: beat me to it ^^^^^

    Exhaust fan in the basement??

^^^^^ Indeed. I do, however, have a kerosene heater in the garage, so it's tolerable out there.

    Cylinder out of round?

The fit would be tighter at operating temperature, as the piston would swell slightly and the cylinder diameter shrink.

Makita 6401 best bar and chain combo

I prefer the Carlton Premium bars over Oregon, but both are good choices. I also like the Tsumura (usually branded Total or Jonsered) bars. The 6401 will pull a 24" in hardwood just fine.

CAD strikes got a used makita 6401 2 bills

Forget the tach and tune it in the cut... With the rev limited coil you can't really do it any other way and be sure you aren't too lean.
