    Philbert's Chain Salvage Challenge

About a year plus ago I had loaded a large bin of saw chains into my truck in preparation for tornado clean up. While I probably have hundreds of chains in my shop these were ones I use on my line up saws. ie, mo.stly 20 and 24" with a few 28", 32" etc in there as well. At any rate, water got...

This will work and locate your problem. Find some fittings to adapt it to what you have. May take several fittings daisy chained together...

log splitter has no pressure to split

It "could" damage the pump. If you follow the procedures in the thread of troubleshooting the system you'll save time and effort in the long run as you'll find out exactly which component is giving you trouble rather than messing with all of them.

Please teach me my best option for using copper sulfate to prevent another sewage drain blockage.

I went to a farm supply recently and picked up a 50lb bag of copper sulfate for $125.00. Way cheaper than buying it in a 4lb can. By the way, water jetting doesn't remove roots often times. It just cleans them really well.

Is an Echo chainsaw warranty any good ? have you ever had a successful claim ?

It's because of the lack of aftermarket parts support that I never keep any broken Echo saws I acquire. I always sell them as parts saws. The runners I've had in the past I've been happy with but didn't keep any of those either for the same reason. If someone is in the OEM parts only camp, then...

Is an Echo chainsaw warranty any good ? have you ever had a successful claim ?

It's starting to clear up a little now. Apparently, the dealer told you that the "damage" wouldn't be covered under warranty. I can understand that. From your earlier posts, it appeared they said the "saw" wasn't covered under warranty because of what model it was. The chain catcher breaking is...

Is an Echo chainsaw warranty any good ? have you ever had a successful claim ?

What it comes down to: Either the saw is covered under warranty or it isn't. Your documentation should show that. What a salesperson or technician "says" is not the controlling factor. So look through your paperwork, if it says that your saw is covered by warranty, then it is. If they refuse to...

Is an Echo chainsaw warranty any good ? have you ever had a successful claim ?

Don't you have any paperwork from when you purchased the saw? What did it say regarding warranty?

Echo CS490 vs. Stihl MS 250 or MS 291

I'd buy a used one of each. Try them, sell what you don't like.

Best Farmertec Parts Kit to Start With

I'd get one that you have an oem version of. That way if there's issues, you can do some parts switching to help diagnose the issues. I recently used two Farmertec rear tank handles for the MS460 and both of them had issues with the switch. I had to re-use the oem switch components. Most of the...

Is this a stihl ms290,ms310, or 311 help

I concur that it's an MS290. The only way to tell for sure (since almost all parts interchange in the 1127 series) is to get the data from the cylinder. If it's a MS290 it will say on it 029 46mm and as stated, that's 56cc, same as the 029 Super.

    Sold 18” bar 346xp K095 mount

Once you find a bar, let me know what chains you need to fit it. I may have some used ones for an affordable price. (I can spin up whatever but stock quite a few oddball sizes)

Sold Stihl 070 with bar $699

Sorry it took so long to see this post. To answer the question, I like mine but don't use it much as I only use it for really big wood. I've got an MS660 which will handle most of my stuff. I put the 070 as a notch or two above that. I have a 41" .404 bar on my 070 and I've bucked an oak that...

Looking for someone who can do port work near kentucky

If you're looking for more power, is there a reason you wouldn't just put a 49mm cylinder on it and have 64cc instead of 56cc? ie, change it into an 039?

What is the Value of A Like New Stihl 029 Super

I don't know about Europe but a really minty 029 Super would probably sell for around $300 in my area. It's a 56cc saw (46mm cylinder) For the exact same weight, you could have the 039 version with 64cc (49mm cylinder) I personally wouldn't do an engine conversion on a good running 029 but would...

    still ms250 question

To check the oiler, take off the bar and chain. Run the saw. The clutch won't fly off this model of saw, that's a Husky outboard clutch thing. You should see oil coming out the oil hole in the engine housing. The oiler in this saw is very cheap to buy but also prone to plug up. I've had to...
