    Towing splitter+ cops???

Has anyone had any issues with the law while towing a splitter? I'm in a small town where they don't care but always wondered if I could technically be ticketed if I went through a stricter area since it has no plates, lights, title, etc. I have a set of magnetic tow lights but always...

    Stihl 064 won't start

I have an older 064 that 90% of the time you set the choke, pull it once or twice and it fires. Every so often I try to start and it just won't fire, won't even sputter. I checked and it has spark, I've tried spraying started fluid and it still won't go. Usually I'll pull for ever and it will...

    Quiet Muffler- Honda 5hp??

Does anyone know of any super quiet mufflers I can get? I have a very very old bulky brigs 5ish HP generator that's about shot. Just got a free pressure washer w a 5hp Honda that runs great but pump is shot. I'm attaching the old generator to the new Honda motor but was wondering if there's...

    Is frozen wood...

I've always noticed my chain dulls out a lot faster if I'm cutting frozen logs.

    Easy wood!

Almost positive it's black locust. Never burned it myself(just cut for others) but it's supposed to be one of the best.

    Pay per cord

I do this exact thing and charge $25/hr, feel like it should be more like $35 but I live in a small area. Reason for not going by cord is some people have the wood already cut into rounds and other people have a huge cluster fu(k of trees and branches that need to be cut up and cleared before I...

    Splitter tire pressure

What PSI do you run in your splitter tires? Normally I pump trailer tires up to the max PSI to cut down on resistance but I feel like I should run the splitter tires low so it doesn't bounce around(no suspension). Tires say 30psi max.

what do you charge for firewood?

I sell seasoned Madrone, usually a little damp/wet from rain but completely seasoned. I get $320 cord/ 175 1/2cord/ $100 1/4cord I sell it as fast as I can cut it, only problem is I'm almost completely out of wood and having some trouble getting a lot more. Even fir/alder is close to that...

wow, I'd definitely like to see a pic. I've never heard of one, tried looking it up online and couldn't find anything. Wonder if maybe someone just slapped a Stihl sticker on an old splitter?

    Stihl 064 and 026 info

well I'm going to try to check them out this afternoon. I know about how the model numbers changed but I believe both saws are 5-10yrs old, just not used much and in good shape. I will bring a compression tester but are there any other little things to watch out for?

    Stihl 064 and 026 info

thanks I think I'll probably go take a look in the next day or so. I'm a little nervous about buying older saws but if I can get 2 decent saws for the price of a newer one, this would probably be a better setup anyway.

    Stihl 064 and 026 info

Can anyone give me some info on these saws? A buddy and I have started selling firewood this year(used to just cut wood for home use) and I've been looking to upgrade saws. He's using a small craftsman and I've been using a 610 McCulloch. Now that I'm cutting a lot I'd like to finally buy a...

Anyone ever used a chain saw on rubber?

I'd be most worried about hitting the metal rim, I'm sure it will cut through the rubber without too much trouble.
