I'm doing some research for a woman I work with, apparently her father is in the process of building a PTO driven stump griner for a kubota tractor, and they are having difficutly locating a wheel/teeth for it, preferrably 12-14" diameter. Can anyone recommend a source for a wheel, preferrably...

Do any stoves last longer than 24 hours on a fill?

Bassman, from this quote I assume you do not leave the house while your woodburner is fired??? What are the majority's thoughts on this?? We run our Newmac Classic woodstove 24-7 during the winter months, with a full load of decent hardwood, and throttled back it will go probably 12hrs min...

    Seeking advice from saw carvers??

So, I tried my hand at carving an eagle a few years ago following some pictures and description I downloaded from the 'Net, and it turned out pretty "Rustic", at least you can tell what it is supposed to be, but I never did any detail work at all, since I was running an 026 with a standard 18"...

    Ants

We recently had a carpenter ant problem in the house and had to set off 6 insect bombs. Seemed to work, however we occasionally see the odd dead ant carcass show up? not sure if there are any still alive in the walls, or if they are fresh ants coming in trying to find food, however they seem...

Will a woodpecker attack a healthy maple?

I dropped the Maple today, and it looks like is no good for anything other than heating my house next winter.... The area where the woodpecker was literally split itself when it hit the ground, even some of the limbs from the top broke right off upon impact... There is some decay in the base...

    ATV in the Woodlot.

The Kawasaki Mules I think may be better suited to more yard/sooth terrain bush work/utility work. I have done some reading on the Yamaha Rhino, and they seem like they would be a better mix of true All terrain/Utility/Work/Play The Rhino has almost ATV manuverability and ground clearance, can...

removing one of 5 leaders of large oak?

Got a couple pics If you click the following link you should see the tree/trees in question, there are actually 6 or 7 leaders/trees, would these all be individual trees or sharing the same root system? I am 6'4" and I can just barely touch my fingers together when bear-hugging the leader on...

    440/460 rebuild

Check Bailey's for the 044/046 big bore kits, if I remember correctly it's only about 110 or 120$ for a BB jug, piston, rings, piston pin, etc then another 20 or so for a gasket kit.... That will be the route I will go if I blow my 044 up

A quote from the article "First and foremost, a 1½-inch case-hardened low-carbon steel pin was inserted through the trunk approximately 4-5 ft above ground. The pin, which extended 6-8 inches on both sides, was wrapped with burlap to protect the cambium and the openings" How would oring such...

It's like the luck I had when I found my 044 at a pawn shop, it was missing the number plate, Upon asking the guy behind the counter what it was he said "Not really sure but I think it's an 034" I pulled the air filter cover off to look and see the part number, 1128 were the first digits...
