PM610 recoil pulley plastic vs. metal

Can't find any number anywhere on the pulley. So I took a shot and bought the 2-pack OEM. Hopefully they fit. The cost of my $5 chainsaw is now up to $45, and I'll have a spare pulley. As long as nobody sneezes on the recoil until the parts come in.

PM610 recoil pulley plastic vs. metal

Are they interchangeable? Turns out the recoil pulley on my PM610 was shattered underneath, causing it to grab the nut and pull it tight. Should have taken it apart first thing, instead of spending all summer and fall running around trying to figure out which hardware store had the brass...

    Oops, Ran over my 400.

Sometimes "fix it" is not the best answer.

PM610 recoil bolt keeps tightening up

Working on my $5 auction buy PM610. Pulling on the rope causes the nut to tighten and after 3-4 pulls the recoil is seized completely. I checked the IPL and I was missing a bushing under the big washer. Found bushings that met the spec at the hardware store. Bought 2 just in case. Used a...

Mac PM610 recoil spacer washer spec

Anybody know offhand the dimensions for the spacer washer in the recoil of the PM610 "cinder block" saw? It's part number 216589 in the IPL for reference. Sure, I could order one but I only paid $5 for the saw and I don't know if it runs. I'll just cut one out on the lathe from some scrap...

    Please advise on Stihl “Frankensaw”

What kind of Stihl dealer doesn't have the correct carb adapter for an MS440/044?

Garage sale rescue: MS260 bogging down

Can you get an OEM carb kit? A couple of years ago Dad tried to get one for his 026 and the Stihl dealer said, "Stihl doesn't sell carb kits, only complete carbs."

You just may need 1 because.....? Well... reasons...

Yeah saw that. They broke it almost immediately due to excessive RPM from the chain saw engine.

decent options for shipping saws within Canada?

Bet you a Tim Horton's donut that UPS won't let you broker your own shipment. Not only is it a hassle for them trying to coordinate with someone who doesn't necessarily know what they're doing, they miss out on that sweet brokerage fee.

    Magnet on a stick?

Doesn't anybody eyeball their cuts anymore and end up with pieces from 10" to 26" long? Yeesh kids these days want all their firewood the same length. The entitlement, I tell ya... Seriously though, nice idea.

Chap options for older children, need help

Chaps are sized by length not age. Once you get beyond the typical box store chaps, they come in sizes. Check online sites like Bailey's or even Amazon. Unless you're looking for something like a "Captain America" themed chap, then I'm not sure you'll find much. An "Incredible Hulk" themed chap...

FAKE STIHL 070 CHAINSAWS - This is interesting

Doesn't anybody look at the dates on threads anymore? Seems like there is a glut of forum newbies no matter where you go these days that are dredging up ancient threads and saying "me too." Kids these days have no forum etiquette. In my day we'd have the decency to start a new thread when we...

    Nozzle for bar oil jugs

Real men just peel the seal off and learn to pour. If you spill a little that's extra lube for the chain.

    Nozzle for bar oil jugs

It's been a while since I've been across the border into Canada so it may have changed, but US Customs ALWAYS asked "Do you have anything to declare?" looking for anything you purchased in Canada that they could charge a duty on. I've gotten orders directly from a hobby supplier in China and...

    McCulloch Super 10-10?

If you're going off the picture on acresinternet it may not be accurate. There is a video of a Super 10-10 on youtube from 7 years ago showing a Super 10-10 with left hand start. In fact left hand start may be what makes it "Super."

Someone started cutting a tree down for us and hasn't finished the job

Curious, did you ever lose out on a job by asking for half up front? Every bit of home improvement advice says if a contractor asks for half up front and you pay, you'll never see them again. Don't get me wrong. I see both sides of the coin. Homeowner wants to be sure the job gets done...

    Chain keeps stretching really quickly

This thread was started last September, 5 months ago. I would assume either they solved the problem or threw the saw in the trash.

Someone started cutting a tree down for us and hasn't finished the job

This wasn't a company. This was a guy who supposedly worked for a tree service doing work on the side. How many times have you heard a story start out "The guy asked for half up front," and the job turned out well? Nobody, and I mean NOBODY legitimate will ask for half up front, even if their...

    STIHL MS 270/271

Yes, but is the MS291 kit any less expensive than the MS271? I'd imagine it's probably a few dollars more even though it probably has less material in it due to the larger bore of the MS291, LOL. I've got to study up on that sandpaper method. I have my late uncle's ProMac 700 with some aluminum...

    Bar oil SUBSTITUTES

Wow, bar oil is the one thing my local farm supply store did not run out of during the past few years.
