Cutter wheel hard to turn by hand on a SC252

Is there any method to know if the wheel works with to much resistance? I came to think about it after grinding with a friend of mines SC362 and noticing that the wheel was spinning freely for a while after disengaging it, on my SC252 it stops immediately and that is different compared to how it...

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

Guess I should have listened more to the AutoSleepPeople, after some calls to Vermeer it seems to be some kind of resistancesensor(?) that is dead, but with AutoSweep disengaged it sweeps from one side to the other in about 4 seconds. So problem solved at the moment, looking forward to do some...

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

Still slow, between 10 to 11 seconds from one side to the other with full throttle and cutterwheel engaged but not grinding.

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

Yes, wouldn't "worry" if it was just for the first 10 minutes when it's cold outside, but it doesn't change. Will probably start it up this weekend, check the oil level, clock some times and put them here to see if someone reacts. Maybe everything is just ok, and it's me looking for an excuse to...

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

Thanks for the advices! The oil is Q8 46, and last time I was grinding the temperature was maybe 41°F, at least not below 32. But I will check the level of the oil next time I use it!

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

The hydraulic filter and oil are changed recently and the belts are ok I think. It has a speedadjuster but that is set on max. It is an autosweep model but I guess that only affect the swing when grinding? I will try with that feature unplugged next time though. It seems to me that it is the...

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

Hi, I bought a Vermeer SC252 this spring and haven't used it a lot yet, maybe 15 stumps all together. Last time I used it seemed that the swing(?) from one side to the other was kind of slow, I'm not sure though since it was some time before that I last grinded with it. If anyone can measure...

    Stumper Teeth

Thanks! Does anybody knows how many teeth there are on a 25 hp wheel? I also would like to know how much one tooth for a multi-tip wheel costs in USA?

How much do you pay for a complete Sandvik wheel (for a 25 hp grinder) in USA?

    ms200t vs. 338xpt

No, only thing I´ve heard is from here- but I do hope there´s a new tophandle on it´s way- NOT because the 338 NE isn´t a very good saw, but except the new Dolmars there hasn´t been much news in this field of chainsaws.

    ms200t vs. 338xpt

338xpt NE I bought the 338xpt New Edition this year and I like it a lot! I used to run the 335 as an employee when it was new and that was a terrible saw. A few years later I bought some 338´s, "old edition", and they were always between OK and really good. Seems you had to adjust the carb...

    e-Bay safety...

So I guess the next thing to do is finding a beefy and reliable AS-member who lives in New Castle, PA and has a job on the side as bountyhunter!!!!!!! Just kidding, but this just started to feel a little tricky, well you always learn something from everything.... What happens if I decide...

    e-Bay safety...

Thanks all for helpful tips!!!!! Maybe I was a little too quick with the bidding, it was just that I´d been looking for that kind of grinder for a while, and it´s half the price compared to buying a new one from England. The shipping to Sweden won´t be a problem if it just gets to a...

    e-Bay safety...

I just won the bidding-process on an Alpine Magnum on e-bay, I was the only one bidding..., don´t know why....? Have I missed something....? The price was 3000$ for a one year old Alpine with the Husky3120-head, I thought that was reasonable. My question is what payment-methods do you...
