    "You Suck" Thread 2022"--Pics required!

Picked up this Wards WD-79 today for $50. Powered by a 100cc West Bend 610 engine. It has good compression. I have also attached a IPL pdf for the WD-79/WD-99. EDIT: The saw started and run with fresh fuel.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

Anyone able to provide any background on a McCulloch chain grinder? Feller on Facebook is looking and I have never seen one.

    Homelite Chainsaws

It came from the west coast. Big saws are difficult to find around here, though I did turn up a Homelite 750 with a CL wanted ad.

    Homelite Chainsaws

Newest addition. Had to add fuel and pull it about 6 times. It had supposedly sat for the last 30ish years.

Best way to tell a chainsaws stolen?

Never second guess your gut reaction. If something seems wrong then it probably is.

If this wasn't 5 hours away I would likely already own it. Running Mac 795 for $450. Edit: No idea why the link posted as Asian characters. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/482102936562348/?ref=facebook_story_share

McCulloch Mini and Small CC Chainsaw's

I can see that now but it also has a metal rod into the top of the pump. When you push that rod it pumps oil. It is bolted to the case and I assume it works from vibration.

McCulloch Mini and Small CC Chainsaw's

Tore a MacCat apart today. Felt like it had tremendous compression. Pulled the plug, pulled the rope and blew bar oil everywhere. Fuel tank was full of bar oil. I have always found these saws interesting because the oil pump function by vibration. Someone has also broken the pump.

It gets worse over time. I thought I got away about 8-9 years ago. Recently decided to tinker with a few and now I am actively buying again.

XL 923 68249 rings will work. I believe the 55537 is just an older version of the 68249.

Hoping I didn't just waste $267. Just received the tracking number this evening. Has to cross the entire US, so probably 8-10 days before I get to see it...

    What's on your bench

I have been tinkering on this 042 for years. 10-ish years ago I installed new bearings, seals, gaskets, fuel system and a NOS 048 top end. It has sat ever since needing an ignition coil, until today.

    Vintage Homelite 450 and SuperXL

Put a dob of grease on the impulse line, seal the line with it. With the spark plug installed, pull the cord. If it sucks the grease in, or blows it out, you have impulse signal. Even if you have impulse the line could be soft and sucking closed when installed on the carb. Are you sure you...
