$300 for a stripped spark plug housing thread repair?

Most striped out plugs I have seen are from the plugs not getting tight enough. Then rattling loose and beating the threads to death

    Should I go with a .050 or .063 bar for a 261?

I would assume it came with a .325 chain? Stihl does not make a .050 chain in .325 guage. If you are talking 3/8 chain a would go with a .050 on a 261

    chains won't self feed?

As the tooth gets worn down you need to go further, I use different gauges as the chain gets worn out

    chains won't self feed?

That chain is not sharp!!! Rakers may still be high also, on chisel chains you need to get the point back, that's what grabs the wood and pulls the chain through the wood

I think you have a red light tank and carb box, that is the extent of your red light, the coil and flywheel are from a newer saw so I would not worry about that. I would be concerned on why the old jug was removed .

    066.....What happened?

Piston heated up and expanded faster than the cylinder?

log splitter build: wedge or pushplate?

I would keep the cylinder down and build a longer base for the pusher plate, if you rase the cylinder you will need to support the ram end of it. The higher the cylinder is also puts a lot more stress on the cylinder back mount and beam. Same with using a taller wedge I would make the sliding...
