If you run mismatched cyl/piston,be sure if you got closed ports cylinder,you need an open windowed piston.

Do you have the plastic thing at the end of the rod ? The end that goes in the handle. It could be also the trigger that is worn where it touches the rod itself.

Tank from 266/268/272. Handle should be from a 66 model.

Squirt gas in filter holder or under the plug if you can get it to run few seconds. If she starts,then you can then concentrate on fuel problem or air leak somewhere.

Check also your air vent if not blocked creating pressure buildup.

Get a new NYLON air filter,not the "felt" one.

Looks like a vapor lock problem. Check inside the top cover if your plug is still there blocking hot air from engine.

Closed port cylinder needs windowed piston.

They are pressed inside . Use a 3" screw to pull the vents out.

I just realized i didnt give you the best option.The best one,is open skirt, second windowed. You need those kinds because OEM cylinder has closed ports.

On 266,you need a windowed piston.

Probably used on some model for as a pulse line.

From what i understand,you didnt split the case.Split the case,remove crank bearings and check cage condition ,same for big end,cage could be broken or needle loose inside the cage itself.Have a look also if bolt holding throttle,choke flap is not missing.

61,66,266,268,272 and Jonserd 630,670 would fit on your saw.

Try opening H a bit,you are probably too lean in the cut. Same two pieces ignition on both saws.
