    Rented a BilJax Self-Propelled 45' lift....

We use one in our Manchester office. It works well in that area. However it doesn't have the reach required in our Muscatine office. We have a Nifty Lift there for a back yard lift. Harder to level but a platform height of 50 ft. and more outreach bigger boom structure, and easier to...

    Just need to Vent Thread

I have sat down with a councilman and penciled out their theory and then shown them what they could save by having a company do everything. Small town, dump is close, can haul it all whole. Cut it down without sitting in the bucket waiting for the city guy to get out from underneath you and...

    Just need to Vent Thread

We placed a bid on some city work for two trees to be removed. The city in all there infinite wisdom requires that the trees be a drop only however we have to work hand and hand with the city workers so that they can clean it up as we go. I hate that! They are slow....we then have to wait. I...

    Gustav tree damage?

for me as a rule of thumb 70 mph winds are worth traveling a few hours or so 100 mph winds are worth traveling where ever needed. I'm with Big T 500,000 without power, you can bet there are trees everywhere. If I wasn't up to my eyeballs right now I would be heading south from Iowa.

who needs help for storm work?

I think I see a set up along the side of the road for chain everywhere we go. I would imagine the person makes good money selling and sharpening. I know if you do a good job it would keep us from having to do our own.

    Storm Removal

The thing to remember when dealing with risk is that once you touch the tree and start working on it and it roles for example punches in a window or maybe a wall, you are responsible. So building in a risk factor is only good business.

    Storm Removal

I don't think I could have said it better myself. Compare this to say getting a new roof. Contractors charge $X per square and the rate is a lot higher after the storm due to supply and demand. Building materials are the same way. Price of lumber goes through the roof after a good hurricane...
