How would you apply the stick lube? Just rub it on both sides of grinding wheel and start?

I'm looking for a way to keep the grinding wheels cool when sharpening chains. So, I thought maybe I could soak the grinding wheels in melted candle wax. Did anyone ever try this method? I know water is not safe. I thought it would be easier than to keep rubbing wax on the wheel. I'm new at...

Thank you so much, Devon, for taking the time to post those manuals. It gave me a lot of insight to what nielsen is capable of. Does anyone know anything about Foley Belsaw 308? It looks like a little bulky in size, meaning more power? What about quality when compared to other sharpeners?

Another question, does your simington grinder, from the look of your pictures, take care of depth gauge beside cutter? If I use Oregon or K50, whatever, it will not be able to sand down depth gauge, just plate cutters only? Cutters, is that what you called, where you sharp the edge on the plate...

Must be high-end quality. I might consider getting one down the road, but for now, I will settle for one that will do the job well. Thanks again.

It's news to me that k50 is not adjustable. So, from your opinion, will that post a problem if you need to sharp at different angles? It's the holder that makes a difference when it comes to angles? It's hard to find any opinions on K50, so I'd appreciate hearing your opinion. Please explain...

Let me see if I understand correct. You put wax candles on both sides of the wheel at full speed. Do you do this just once for each chain or as needed? Not a bad idea. Although, I don't understand "roll it side to side"? Holding the wax as you sharp the chain?

Yeah, I heard about 511a not being as accurate as 511ax. Mtngun, Are u saying 511ax’s center vise could break easily?

I'm trying to decide on which sharpener would be a better buy. My guts tell me to go with Nielsen K50, even though, it's an older model, but it's built to last. I want to hear from others who have experienced, using either one or both. I know Oregon 511a is an older version of Oregon 511ax...
