Need help: chimney leaks creosote, and some smoke into house

Cleaning the stovepipe is not a fix for a leaking pipe. The leaking has nothing to do with how your wood is seasoned or how you are burning. There is no way for a properly installed stovepipe to leak under any circumstance unless you had a complete thermal meltdown. As others have...

    Arboristsite has cost me $$$

Would that be a 12 step program or a 12 guage program? Racking a pump is almost as sweet a sound as a Stihl 056 Mag.

Don't feel bad man. Somehow I ended up with 25 saws, most of them 90-100cc or more. Just something about large numbers I guess. I'm not sure why I have some 2 man saws, but I do. lol

    Full Cord on an F-250

Wrong answer. Report: Taxpayers still owed $133B from bailout "General Motors Co. owes about $25 billion" Then GM pulls this BS: Chevy Impala Tire Problems: Class Action Lawsuit Filed "According to news reports, GM claims that the problem is not with the faulty manufacturing of the...

I Built a Forced Air Outdoor Stove

Since you're outside, I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you get buildup that could be a fire hazard, or puddling on your slab. (Or your wifey complains of "ugly"!!!) I can't see from your picture, but I'll mention anyway. Always use rivets when assembling stovepipe. Sheetmetal screws...

I Built a Forced Air Outdoor Stove

The way your pipes are stained, it looks like your pipe joints may be upside down. The pictures are not close enough I can tell for sure. Stovepipe joints should be oriented so the upper pipe fits inside the lower pipe during assembly (not the lower pipe inside the upper pipe).

    Coolant block heaters

Problems starting in cold weather are usually related to low battery voltage. Low battery voltage is probably the #1 killer of starters. Starters need to spin fast to last as they arc less on the armature. When it gets cold, battery output drops quickly. Raise the battery temp and you increase...

    Oil bath air filter

Yeah, I was wrong. I admit that. I don't take it personally. First, it's good that you now understand ISO 5011 is a test method. A couple posts ago you didn't know that. You're learning. Hopefully, you have also learned ISO 5011 uses mass to measure filter efficiency. I wanted to mention...

    Oil bath air filter

Let's address the 3 problems you have stated you have with K&N filters. Excellent! Then you also know that K&N uses the ISO 5011 standard based on what they have written on their website, the link I already gave you. 1. Since you are 'certainly' familiar with ISO 5011, then you know that...

What standard do you test filters too? I would assume ISO 5011? Are you familiar with ISO 5011?

    Oil bath air filter

I do not consider it truthful when people comment on K&N filters without reading K&N's stated goal in manufacturing filters. K&N Air Filter Facts You Should Know end of 2nd paragraph So I'll ask you the same question I asked Rick. Do you have a problem with K&N meeting their stated goal...

    Oil bath air filter

The first link you posted didn't work. I would assume that means you never clicked it. The mistake you make is thinking that all oil bath filters are the same. They are not. Oil bath filters rely on the momentum of the particulates in the air stream and their inability to chage directions...

    Oil bath air filter

Quoting another forum, lol. There's a real verifiable source that will hold up to scrutiny. Of course you could also read the other posts in the same thread you linked. Many other posts disagree with you. and FWIW, K&N's stated goal is to build a high flow filter with 98% efficiency. They...

    Oil bath air filter

yeah, so far you have only offered your opinion. Sounds like you haven't ever used an oil bath air filter either. What is your expertise? You talked to someone who works for a filter company and they told you their filters are the best? haha

    Oil bath air filter

And if you talk to anyone that was in the blast zone of St Helens operating equipment, they will tell you they scrapped out more equipment with paper filters than those with oil bath filters. Hence Montana's Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan suggesting oil bath air filters. You being big on the...
