I have a micrometer from my days of rebuilding T5 transmissions that I use to check the clips. This site has made me paranoid about clip failure, so I always try my best to prevent it. I haven't done as many saws as you Murph, but I have done probably a dozen with the meteor/factory clip...

I had the low speed cranked out like 4 turns and it didn't make a difference. I could try the metering lever. I had to stop fiddling with it before I smashed it into a pine tree.

Are there any alternative carbs for this that will work? I tried epoxying the accelerator pump but that made it worse. I can't get it to accelerate now. Is there any other way to modify it to possibly get it to work? I offered to foolishly fix my friends saw and it has been a nightmare. :cry:

I just pulled an oem mahle piston from a husky 44 with the arrow facing towards the side of the ring locating pin. Granted the locating pin was off on the side, not square in front. I'm guessing the ring locating pin is supposed to be on the exhaust side( just offset) on this model? Either...
