The brick in my hearth are some of the brick that came out of the house when we moved it. It's an early 1800's of late 1700's log house. I moved it from middle Tenn to where we are. If I knew how to get a pic from my phone to the site I'd show you. Now the fire brick were the new modern type...

Where would I get a good top end off of an o36? And is it just a swap out? What would I do to my muffler to mod it?

That was very considerate of the bucket owner. But for him to have a gas burner in the truck for me is strange. With all the use the engine gets, it is strange.

My only question is the position of the beam to axle point connection. What you have seems like it would put a lot of pressure/weight on the center of the axle. Would that not eventually bend? I would put some sort of brace support on it. But I like what you've done. Really nice work.

If it's anything like Sweet Gum, in the fire place it explodes like it's got fire crackers inside. I've burned it but it's causing me problems. I may just put all of it in the trash pile and let it rot.

Some of the best steel we ever got was the Canadian steel. But that Russian stuff was as dirty as I've ever seen. You couldn't but that stuff with a torch 4 inches without a blow out from trash. I hated that steel. It was like rebar in structural shapes.
