    Help with Gas Can purchase....

pics please. side note - I can't believe I'm requesting pics of somebody's gas can setup. I guess if we were still living in the old style gas can days, I wouldn't bother. But since we have EPA gas cans...

    Rivers Great PNW Chainsaw adventure!!!

I used to live in Ashland. It was a fun town when I was first married (1997 -1999). I'm sure it still is fun, but it would take some getting used to. Real liberal in Ashland. I was back there in Feb of this year.

I'm guessing your S screw is the idle speed. Just set it to where it idles where it's supposed to.

    saws at high elevation

Funny you should mention that. A couple weekends ago, I ripped and quartered some green eucalyptus at my father-in-law's house. He lives at around 500 feet in Orange Park Acres, CA, east of Orange, CA. About an hour earlier, I had opened up the exterior port on the muffler from the stock 3/8"...

    saws at high elevation

Thanks everybody. I was hoping it was the elevation. I was a bit nervous that despite the rich 12,500 RPM WOT, I was actually running lean and starving the saw for fuel.

    saws at high elevation

I went camping over the weekend with my boys. We were at 8070 feet, and I thought I'd supplement some of the cedar and oak firewood that I had brought, with a killed by fire pine blow down. I leaned out the H needle on my 044 until I got to 12,500 RPM, and did about 10 8" diameter cuts. It...

It looks like the injured person got sick and lost his freshly eaten scrambled eggs, all over the wound.

    Oregon Pro bars?

You probably can't get it in .050 either. I did a search for my 044. 32's and 36's with 3/8" and .063" show an Oregon Pro. If I change to .050", no Oregon Pro.

P/N for plate on bottom of new Stihl 044 fuel tank?

Look at the MS440 and the MS460 on pgs. 27 & 28 of the latest Stihl catalog. Look on the bottom right corner of the gas tank, right behind the clutch cover. You will see a shiny aluminum cover on the gas tank. It fastens with a screw to the bottom of the gas tank. I looked on the Stihl site...

replacement for Stihl multi-purpose grease - clutch drum needle bearing

It sounds like the Chevron red grease I use to lube the ball joints and tie rod ends on my Dodge CTD will suffice. It's kind of sticky and I wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause any damage. It's not as sticky as wheel bearing grease, but you know what I mean. Just a very light coat on the...

replacement for Stihl multi-purpose grease - clutch drum needle bearing

Do I have to use the Stihl multi-purpose grease for my clutch drum needle bearing? I can't imagine there's anything special about the "Stihl" grease, but since I don't have any Stihl grease to compare with, I can't tell for sure if the stuff I have, or will buy, is safe. What does everyone...
