    Echo

Ted Nelson, Customer: But why do they put a guarantee on the box? Tommy Boy: Because they know all they sold ya was a guaranteed piece of s$!t. That's all it is, isn't it? Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time. But for now, for your...

    Echo

I have a 346 and can't say enough goo things about it. No matter how much others may give me a hard time for this saw it starts every time and continues to cut. If you don't like the dealer much I say buy it from wherever you get the best price. As for the warranty, I don't have any...

Full on video of a removal ... HUGE

First off, absolutely assume video and soundtrack!!!!! I was very impressed at the climber's ability to move around with spikes, must do a lot of removals. Now his practices are a little questionable, as some have already pointed out. Looking past the lack of hard hats and other PPE, there...

    Climber Saw?

The 200T is really the benchmark for climbing saws. Great power and they tend to work day after day. While Husky has some great saws IMHO there really is no better climbing saw than the 200T. I know they are pricey but in this case you really do get what you pay for.

    AMSOIL...enlighten me please.

Spacemule: I humbly disagree with the posts on Metric vs. Standard systems. While there are positives and negatives with both we really need to look at what each was created for. While the system used here in the good old USA is great for some things, like the example given of carpenters...

    Spikeless pruning required?

+1 on everything said so far. There is no reason to use spikes unless doing a removal, IMHO. Last year my sister's neighbor had some dead wooding done on oaks and the hacks used spikes. Also, the guy was one handing a chainsaw while only tied in once, not to mention no safety glasses, ear...

new 1590 chipper 38.2K... no air filter

That being the case, I would say a new chipper is in order. All that dust is extremely bad for your valves, pistons, rings, and cylinder walls. Even if the machine runs well for now it may have damage that comes up down the road. I understand you wanting to keep good relations with the dealer...

new 1590 chipper 38.2K... no air filter

In the end you can't really prove it didn't have an air filter, which is the sticking point. While it would be nice of them to do something about it I am not sure they will. I would try to get an extended warranty on the unit, in writing, or at the least on just the engine. On a side note, I...

    To Maximum RPM And Beyond

I would love to see the calcs to figure these forces, accelerations, velocities, and compressions out.
  14. P

Has to be true, I read it on the Internet.

Its all like a conspiracy man... big brother and stuff. I don't see the chip thing happening in a saw for just the point ShoerFast said, if the saw stopped during a cut and someone/thing got hurt or killed it would be a big time lawsuit. Now things like trimmers, blowers, etc I could see this...

    Trees and Physics

I would like to thank my wife and parents for all the practice throughout my life, I couldn't have done it without them.

    Trees and Physics

If you need help with this just let me know what the weight is and length of fall. I can calculate the resulting velocity and post how the work was done. Also the energies can be calculated if you would like that too.

    Chevy Colorado Tree Truck?

Other then gears you are probably getting what you can out of the truck. No matter what you do, in the end it is still a 4 cylinder mini-truck. The only thing I would be worried about is how long your truck will last being overloaded so often. That is a lot of strain on the engine and rear...

    Trees and Physics

Don't think you quite got the point there Moray. I was making a sarcastic remark on the following: I understand that you are trying to point out that because someone says they are a mathematician, engineer, etc doesn't mean they are always going to be right or knowledgeable on a topic within...

    Trees and Physics

Moray, the first graph looks like a better representation may be a parabolic trend line up to about 8 jugs and linear after that. Just an observation.

    REI Spirit III boots

While my wife has had success with REI brand boots I went through a couple with comfort and construction problems. Now I can't say enough about Asolos, they have been great from both comfort and longevity.
