Stihl MS200 - cause and effect - what caused this?

Wolf is giving you the best advice you could ask for, listen carefully and follow every step! He's done more work on this one particular model than anyone you'll likely ever come accross. Only thing I'll add is don't use aftermarket parts, maybe a Meteor piston if you can save the cylinder, but...

    suggestion for catching a squirrel.

We have outdoor cats, haven't seen a mouse, mole or vole in yrs. We even had one cat that was deadly on rattlesnakes, saddly, the third time she was bit it got her in the mouth, used up all her 9 lives on that one. 😔 RIP, Shadow!

What the different between $400 Meteor cylinder and a $160 Meteor cylinder

NEVER hone a nikasil cylinder. Research the proper way to remove transfer.

What the different between $400 Meteor cylinder and a $160 Meteor cylinder

.043 squish on OEM? That quite excessive, in my opinion.

Stihl 029 super big bore conversion

It's a tapered shaft, and yes, it is important. Also, make damn shure to clean the FW as well as the shaft of any oil residue.
