    Fiskars Super splitting axe review

Just got a super splitter. Don't believe the hype. Yes it splits, but I can do more with my 8lb maul. The short handle renders it almost useless to me. Not enough weight on the head, I could go on and on. Maybe easily split wood such as maple might be its specialty. It sure isn't the oak I have...

How much wood did everyone go through this WINTER !!!!

Into my 12th face cord so far. That makes 4 cords. Heating a 1800 sq ft 2 story colonial with a lopi freedom fireplace insert.

LogRite Cant Hook - Which Size?

I haven't had much luck with the one I bought. Most of the time it wouldn't grip on the log. The last time I used it the weld that holds the smaller spike in place peeled away from the shaft. Maybe the better quality ones work better. I bought mine from tractor supply. Iwon't be replacing it...

    FYI - Northern Chainsaw Sharpener

Good idea. I think all the adjustment stop screws are in need of replacement. Mine go from being too tight to too loose on the same thread.

My day out running new Echo CS370

I have a feeling that if you got a 361 your other saws would be collecting dust. They are that nice, and in my opinion; not heavy at all. I have a three saw quiver comprised of an older Homelite VI Super 2, A Stihl 028 Super and a Stihl 036 Pro. I find myself using the largest saw almost all the...

    FYI - Northern Chainsaw Sharpener

I actually felt bad about buying this grinder and undercutting our American workers, for about five minutes. It does a great job, better than the saw shop around here. They burn your cutters, making them not fileable. Took my time on the first chain and only ruined one cutter. It was a chain I...

    Injury

I had a large chunk of wood hit me square in the eye, while splitting. I was wearing safety glasses, which steamed up to the point of being useless. I took them off as I only had a few logs to go. Happened so quick, it made me drop to my knees. I was afraid to open my eye, which I had covered...

    deal or no deal?

Why would any business turn away money. They make more money on repairs than they do off selling the saw.

Not yet, It is still in transit. I should have it tommorow. I'll probably try it out Friday after work. Saturdays are my cutting day, so I need some sharpened chains to try out.

    problem with cat stove?

Are you sure your lopi has a cat? I thought they all relied on a secondary burn chamber to decrease emmisions. Does yours have tubes with holes on the top of the firebox. These are part of the secondary burn system. This is the reason I went with a lopi. Maybe they are damaged or plugged. Maybe...

Add me to the list. I just purchased the grinder. At seven bucks a pop to sharpen a chain this thing should pay for itself in no time.

    Need help Jonsered or Stihl

Just get a 3120xp. You never know when you will get the urge to mill some lumber, and you will not suffer from the "did I buy a big enough saw?" syndrome.
