I cut the groove with a double cut carbide bur. This was the first time I've done this so don't beat me up too bad.

So here is a Stihl mount bar. When put on a saw installed with the husky to Stihl spacer with this groove cut in it, the saws oils beautifully.

Yes you can, ive actually modified a Stihl mount bar to go on a spacer that was on an 041 mount. Let me get home and I'll take pics of what I'm talking about and it will make sense.
