    TW6 mods

Forgot to mention. I put the splitter up on an old set of rims a few years ago. It really helps the back to have the beam up a little higher.

    TW6 mods

I finally got around to doing some long needed mods to my TW6. 1st, I finally got around to installing a prince auto valve. I was hoping it would be worth the money. Turns out I should've done the swap on day one. This thing is such a time saver it's not even funny. It's actually crazy that...

Prince auto valve work port question

I bought the valve from Surplus center and it came with 3/4" ports. Thanks guys for verifying for me. I clicked on the spec sheet for the valve, and that's where it says 1/2". Must be a typo. I also bought a gauge to help with setting up. So I thought I'd install it and see what pressure it...

Prince auto valve work port question

I'd like to finally pull the trigger on a prince auto valve swap on my TW6. http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?item=9-6587&catname=hydraulic I know I need to order another hose to make it work. The problem I'm having is that the website says the work ports are 3/4" but if you click on the...

Looking for a true firewood conveyor. Opinions wanted

I just ordered a 24' Wolf Ridge. Should be delivered sometime in September. I neighbor has a 40' Wolf Ridge and he let me check it out last week. That sealed the deal, they look very well built. I'll post some pics when I get it. Thank you everyone for your input. I appreciate it.

Looking for a true firewood conveyor. Opinions wanted

I currently have an old hay elevator that I converted for firewood. Although it has served me well, it's getting worn, and I'm pretty sick of messing with it. I keep it fed with a TW6. I know the cost effective thing to do would be another old elevator. I don't want to go that way. So I've been...

    ICB totes

After paying $25 a piece for my 1st 20 totes, I found a guy giving away 60 of them. That was 5 or 6 years ago. Some have taken a beating, some started rusting out. I have about 10 that are unusable now. I'd love to find another guy near Milwaukee looking to get rid of another 100!

    Fiskars Hookaroon

I have one of the small ones(12" maybe) for getting the splits out of the bottom of my totes. Works awesome!

    TW 6 Auto valve?

Man, you guys are raining all over my parade! J/K, I really appreciate the honest opinions.

    TW 6 Auto valve?

Thanks, that settles the power beyond question. You said you ended up taking the valve off and replacing it with an auto return. That sounds like what I currently have on there. I was under the impression that I could still use the auto valve manually and have it auto return. Is that not true? I...

    TW 6 Auto valve?

I agree with all of that, which is why I didn't get it sooner. I've been getting better wood for the last year or two. Don't get me wrong it's still 20% crap, but I've split enough wood to be able to know if a round it likely to run right through, or give me problems. I guess I'd like the the...

    TW 6 Auto valve?

I thought the same thing for a long time. But I find myself standing there looking at the ram move instead of getting the next piece. So now I'm back to wanting to try it out. For some reason, I thought it would be a quick swap out. After looking at the install instructions it looks like I'll...

    TW 6 Auto valve?

So I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on an auto valve for my tw 6. I almost ordered it but I'm not sure if I need a power beyond or not. I don't think the stock valve has it, and I'm not sure if I need it. Should I get it just in case? Can I just leave it plugged if I don't use it?

    Hard Cover for a Splitter

I finally found a use for my recycling bin! I put one over the wedge and one over valve handles. I also bent a piece of tin to put over the muffler as a heat shield. My tarp has lasted twice as long as the last one, and theres no apparent wear yet. I wish I would've done this sooner.

    Lifted TW6

I split in a field, so no hard surface for jack stands. Setting the machine on a couple rims might work. Would be easier then modding a set of bigger rims/tires. I'm not stuck on this one idea. I'm open to anything that'll raise the machine and be safe against kick back. As far as selling it...

    Lifted TW6

I have a TW6 that feeds into an old hay elevator. I'm trying to raise the beam up about 6". I know some people put the splitter on car ramps or Jack's, but I'm a little nervous about what would happen if a split got wedged in the conveyor and rocked the splitter back. My kids sometimes split for...

    Eastonmade 12-22 used price

Don't know what it's worth, but I'd start by telling him that and then start real low. He knows what he has to get, he just wants to see if you pay him more then that. Plus no matter what you start with, he'll ask for more. That's how every negotiation goes. Doesn't matter what your trying to buy.

    heat exchanger

Mine was completely clogged a few years ago. I filled mine with toilet bowl cleaner and let it sit a week. I flushed it out and filled it again for another week. It cleaned up nicely after that. I haven't had to clean it since, but I'd do it the same way if I had to.
