    Anyone Heating Yet

Had four evening fires to knock the chill off the last couple weeks; inside house temp was 64-65 those nights. Wife said it was getting too cool upstairs in the boys' rooms and threatened to turn on the furnace. WHAT! No propane is the goal, so I got the OWB fired up, turned off the electric...

New SpeedPro Kinetic Log Splitter from TSC...

BSD- How is the working height on this machine? Being towable, it looks much lower than SS or DR. It looks as if you would be stooped over while working. Also, another video, longer would be awesome if possible!!:blob3::rock:

DR Rapid Fire Rack & Pinion

I just have one question for DR Power; taking all of these suggestions for improvements into consideration, what would be a realistic date to expect a 2nd generation DR Kinetic splitter to hit the market. I am very intriqued by these splitters and am considering purchasing one, but after...

    Elm

Absolutely +1! Most of the wood for my OWB comes from fence lines farmers want cleared in ne Iowa; which is 75% elm. It is some heavy, dense stuff that burns awesome. Comparable to oak IMHO.

    Heatmor Boiler is boiling over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dealer came in and did a smoke test when I thought my Heatmor was running hot and going through too much wood. He blocked the chimney and ran a cycle with the fan and I had a caulk joint leaking near the door. Half tube of caulk later, hole was filled and I was good to go. You have air...

What kind of wood is this?

Without looking at it closer, if it was around Iowa, I would say dead elm. If that is what you have, it burns awesome, good btus!:msp_thumbup:

    Score and wood ID

I am no pro but due to the thickness and size of grain, definitely oak. Maple that size has much thinner bark. Just my opinion, but seems to mesh with heavy rounds and difficulty splitting. Awesome find!!!
