    Richer oil/fuel mix (or not)?

Hello! I wonder if there are any possible advantages with a richer than "nominal" oil-to-fuel-mixture such as, e.g., 3% instead of 2%. I seem to have understood that some people use richer mixture (including myself) but now I am wondering what the possible (if any) advantages are? I sort of...

    .404 chain on 357xp?

So - I have bought a 10 year or so old "toasted" Husky 357xp for very little just to have something to pretend I am a mecha- nic a little with ... . Now when I am hoping saw is getting ready for use I was thin- king of changing the clutch drum to a Oregon 108565X with a large sprocket fit in...

Does stihl make a saw that isn't bulky for it's size?

Does stihl make a saw that isn't bulky for it's size?

NO - unfortunately not - but there is a small company in my nearest bigger city which specializes in "triples" http://www.ebos.se/ - and I have planned to buy one for a long time (as a lot of other stuff as well :) ) - but hopefully it will hap- pen before I get too old - who knows :) ... ...

Does stihl make a saw that isn't bulky for it's size?

Like a Husky 576xp I suppose (which is a pretty bulky saw - quite high, for example) - still one of my favorites (have two of the very first model made) - the Stihl bar looks long- er than maximal recommended by Stihl 32" I suppose????

Does stihl make a saw that isn't bulky for it's size?

Thanks - that's a lot of weight if it is just the motor head ... . As for the power figures, I have seen those seriously critizied somewhere and have also written about it at another forum - but I have forgot the details - 13hp is about 50% more hp/ displacement unit than modern saws, after all...

Does stihl make a saw that isn't bulky for it's size?

Yes - let me explain myself here - of course the weight in itself of a 3120xp is no problem for a well-built bloke like myself :) - please do not misunderstand me there :) - it is the fact that the tip of my 3120xp hangs down like 40 degrees or so which makes it impossible to carry it at normal...

Does stihl make a saw that isn't bulky for it's size?

The most roll over inclined Husky is the 346xp I suppose, still many people think that it is one of the best saws ever maid :) ... . And outbord clutch (inboard sprocket) is me- chanically better than the opposite :) ... . Just the (void of fluids) 3120xp motor head is big as a full size...

    346xp problems

Yeah - you are right - I have an older longer 125 page workshop manual also for multiple Husky saws - seems to be same thing there - says something only about tank vent test "Use gauge 502 50 37-01 to measure vacuum. Readings should be as follows: the vacuum should increase from 30 to 15 within...

    346xp problems

I looked at spare parts list at http://www.husqvarna.com/se/support/ and found this parts lists for older Husqvarna 350 saw http://cdn.husqvarna.com/ddoc/HUSI/HUSI2004_AAaa/HUSI2004_AAaa_350_2004-03.pdf I don't know which screws and threads it is about - possibly those with parts number 503...

    346xp problems

Before I got myself threading equipment I just went to (for example) a plumbing store to borrow a plumbing threading tap (BSP thread - not the most common th- ing you find at supermarkets etc) - no problems - they almost seemed to appreciate someone were asking for such kind of stuff ... :) .

    346xp problems

If threads are gone - why don't rethread them M6 (instead of M5 as I suppose they originally were) - just drill out the worn M5-threads with 5 mm drill and rethread with M6-tap (and change bolts from M5 to M6 :) )? Well I am sure you know this already (if it is a good recipe...) :) .

    346xp problems

What is "cylinder adapter"? (I have some strange kind of "plumbing" running on the outside of the cylinder of my 357xp (project) - is that it?) Or is it just the fit of the cylinder to the crank house? Edit: I think I have figured out what it is now - it is some sort of "distance" between...

Orginal OEM 357xp piston costs 85 EUR - too much ... . The piston in above advertisement costs 30-35 EUR ... much better ... . Just from visual comparison that seems to be same piston as offered by well-reputed Swedish pirate part seller for less than 20 EUR - HERE...

    346xp problems

I gave my newly fixed 346xp a new Sugihara blade and chain to award it for having had so much patience with my would be mechanic attempts ... . However - this came much harder than expected as it turned out the Sugihara blade had 0,5 millimeter dia- meter or so too small holes for the bar...
