Is there a saw you never want to see again?

    Homelite 410. Absolute garbage. Cj

    Thoughts on running saws empty?

Ran at least 7 tanks a day through our saws and all of them were ran dry. Never a issue. To this day I do the same thing. Most of the time they start revving up a bit in the cut. That tells you to let off and shut it down and grab the other saw. Once in while they start dieing at idle but not...

    What's on your bench

A piston is a 4st dirt bike is basically a ring holder at best. Heck that is about the same as the diamond pistons in my big block, expensive ring holders! I quit riding 4 stroke dirt bikes 2 years ago, I was faster on them but didn't have as much fun. Back on 250 2 strokes. Cj

    What's on your bench

Hopefully never, as I don't want a 4 stroke chainsaw!! The piston Huskstihl put in my 372 was a quality piece so good ones are out there. Cj

    Break-in

The dyno I will disagree with, the rest as Bwalker says load it as best as you can. Well a dyno will load it 100% as long as you want. And you can watch everything 100% down to air fuel ratio. We made 2 partial pulls and 1 full pull on my new engine and by the end of the 3rd pull the blowby was...

    Porting

Hummmm, let me think, what is the difference between the highly edumacated enganneer and the home saw builder? Budget. You think that the OEM's are going to spend the time and $$ that Kevin and other saw porters do to make things "just right" NO. They just care about profit because of the Bean...

    Serious Hydro Leak / Husquvarna # S427 27-ton logsplitter

Sae thread, hopefully it just loosened up and blew the o ring. Where at in northern Michigan. I usually don't fix splitters but always willing to help out somebody. They used to be a HD pipe fitting, welded a few of them for a repair. Cj

    next years wood

Most anyone around here will cut 16 to 24 inch depending on what the customer wants. For that price I would hope so. I paid 80 for 24" last year as I was out and so were most sellers. After that I cut the rest. Cj

    next years wood

It is already at 110 a face around here at different places. That is Detroit prices 2 years ago. Cj

    372xp vs. 562xp

Here is the 372's deal. I have had and heavily used 10 or so. 7 pulls cold and 1 pull hot, Everytime all the time Unless there is something wrong with it. My 562, eh not so much. It is consistent as long as you do everything right and it is not too hot out [above 90] then it starts to vapor...

Which Saw to Keep? 372XPW or 562XP

No question with me either, the 562 would hit the road. It is my least used saw even with the heated handles. In fact when I get a chance it will be listed along with the 390. I wish hl supply would have answered my e mail and.i would already have a 592. Cj

    Husqvarna 592XP: Real world feedback

The decomp valve saves on recoil parts. Has nothing to do with your ability to crank a saw. After fixing the recoil on my 562 I started using it again on that saw. Cj

    Oil Delivery Concerns - Husky 390 & 372

Why would you build a small block up when a stock one is just as fast? Sorry but the same reasoning applies to saws. Now I will agree 100% if the porter had no clue of what he or she was doing and made the saw slower. That would be the only reasoning that makes sense. CJ

How long do files last you?

About 10-12 filings then they get thrown in a tool box for a what if situation or driven in a wall for a hanger. Alot just get pitched. Cj

    Log splitter not building pressure

Just take the tie rods apart, pull the head end off with the rod inside the head end, sliding the piston out of the barrel. Most Chinese cyls just use o-rings for piston seals. My guess is they nicked the seal when they assembled it. If the piston is tight on the rod, replace the piston seal and...
