    big bore for 460 Magnum

little update: I purchased a new crank, big bore kit, dual port muffler and maxflow for the dead 460. The core shift on the intake and exhaust was pretty bad so I gasket matched it. Cleaned everything right down to chasing threads. Decided to let a local shop reassemble it ($150). Finally got it...

    big bore for 460 Magnum

it's grooved pretty good. I do like the idea of a stock rebuild with a DP muffler and highflow filter. If I was seriously into milling and it wasn't a once in awhile hobby I'd stop farting around and get an 880. I started with an MS261 and got lots done with that so the 460 needs to last me till...

    newbie miller with question

busy weekend we recently had a 'tropical storm' move through the Ottawa Valley causing massive tree loss. I went through a nearby neighborhood and knocked on a few doors that had nice straight trees down. Offered to cut up logs and take them away for free. I really need to learn how to sharpen...

it was cut down in winter, only touched snow. They are at least 100yrs old though, so I guess that's alot of airborn dirt over time. There was no comparison between each chain's 1st cut though, the Laser rocked. I got the Laser chain from CuttersChoice online.

    newbie miller with question

I decided to mill my own lumber for a garden expansion after I priced out white cedar. Got an alaskan small log mill to go with my MS261, and a Granberg ripping chain. 1st cedar log was 13" diameter, 8 feet long. I got 6 cuts and the chain was done. I ordered some Laser ripping chains, and...
