    Take a look at Stihl's dual port muffler cover,Baileys might have a aftermarket one also. You could modify yours based on the design of either one.

    I'm getting old so for me a 461 with a lightweight 28" bar . If the wood is going to 36" and up most of the time then a 661.

    Firewood Year in Review

    The Last 2 years have been pretty dismal as far as wood production goes for me probably 10 cord total.For 2015 I plan to do triple that starting with splitting the rounds I have stockpiled.

    I recently got one from a hospice thrift store and this little fan is excellent. I can't say the room is hotter but the rest of the house sure is.

    For me it's the 260 pro along with the 044. I'm in northern ca and those 2 saws have put more wood in the stove than any other saws I have.

    044 / the best saw of the last 25 years I have a 10mm 044 and by far is my favorite saw.This saw has put more wood in the stove than my 024,260 pro,and mighty 660 combined. Long live the 044!!

    Sweats I was cutting wood and noticed another wood cutter in sweats.His sweats were covered in wood chips I told if he wore jeans the chips wouldn't stick. The next day he showed up with jeans on.

    pine Well about 10 years ago i turned my nose up at pine and burned fir as my softwood.That all changed I burn mostly pine for softwood now.The worst thing about pine is if you have a pile and it rains on it pine acts like a sponge.
