    Price Check NIB Univent

Doug asked a question I've been wondering as well. I bought one from Baileys when they were closing them out. I had put it up in my garage and forgot about it and recently came across it while I was in there looking for something else. I've only had it out of the box once and certainly haven't...

    Husky 372XP problem

How do you like that Univent 372? I've got one new in the box I grabbed around Christmas and have yet to even try it out. Is there any noticeable difference between it and a regular Husky 372? I've read on here that they're hotrodded from the factory.

Recommendations for my new toy. Husqy 570

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on the saw. I don't think the 570 is liked much by the crowd around here. I've never ran one but have seen them at the local dealer and they seem to be a decent saw. Not sure I'd run a 28" bar on that saw, 20"-24" seems to be optimal depending on the type...

    Liquid removal of Carbon/Oil deposits?

I've had decent luck with spray on gasket remover. I can't remember where I heard about that, but I tried it a few times with pretty good results. Usually I'll spray some on, let it soak in....take a dowel or something and remove the goop. Reapply as necessary. You'll have to wash the gasket...

    Husky 372 Antivibe Question

I've got a quick question. I just picked up a 372 and was looking the saw over to clean it up a little bit. Under the clutch cover, behind the clutch toward the tank is a screw that goes from the case into a recessed place in the gas tank. Is there supposed to be a rubber anti-vibe mount located...

Husky Guys, Prices going up Dec 1st

Not too nuts, I paid close to $1200 including tax out the door for my 660 with 25 inch bar earlier this year. The Stihl dealers don't seem to haggle on price around here like some across the country apparently do. It's a shame what Husky is doing. The whole reason I favored them was because you...

    husky crankcase seal removal tool

I bought the tool you're speaking of last fall when I was working on my 268. I got it from that Randy fellow on Ebay. Works as it should. I think it was something like $30.....but I can't really remember. Really neat tool, you strip the saw down to the seals and it screws into the rubber part of...

video of me running my MS660 in Texas

I'm not the end all and be all of saws here, but it sounds like you need to set the idle up a little on the saw. Back when I got my 660 early in the summer it was the same as yours and would die when I'd set it down to do some work between cuts.

    Husqvarna Days!

That's pretty interesting about the 576XP. Will it be labeled as such? Or will it still be labeled the 575XP....but you'd have to sort through serial numbers to find out which is the new edition? A lot of people seem to not like the current 575, but then you read on here that a lot of people do...

Go Around With 2 Mac 125's

My sentiments exactly on Wal-Mart. If I have to go to Wal-Mart, I try to do it early in the morning (5am or 6am). Those kinds generally don't seem to wake up before noon and I'm less likely to run into them. In reality I try to avoid Wal-Mart as much as possible.

    Another Husky 268 question

The regular 268 is an open port design in the cylinder while the 268XP is a closed port cylinder. The closed port has some more ummph to it and revs a little quicker. If you want to stay in the same range, a 272XP is basically the same saw with a 52mm piston versus the 268's 50mm. Both are great...

First rebuild, 372xp, here we go!

Good luck with the rebuild and I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures as you go along. I've got a 254XP that I need to put crank bearings into this fall so it will be nice to track your progress.

    Husky Paint?

Wow, that top looks great! Have you ran it on a saw yet? How does it hold up to regular useage? Do you think dragging it through brush and limbs would scratch it up and chip it easily?

    Stihl and John Deere!!!!

I'd say this quote pretty much sums it up. My local JD dealer sells Stihl saws and weedeaters along with the JD saws. They're all off in some little hole in the wall from the main showroom of mowers and tractors. Matter of fact, if you go look at the saws, they've all sat on the shelf so long...
