    Husqvarna 2100 Serial Number

2100 OChoice, I haven't personally used Point Grey but a fellow saw owner lives in the area and has used them in the past with success. I would be tempted to pull the rings off your piston (without breaking them) clean up the inside of the cylinder with a light oil and 400 or 600 grit...

    Husqvarna 2100 Serial Number

Ochoice What shop did you bring your saw too? It doesn't look like it needs a new piston to me but that doesn't mean too much. Can you elaborate on it's "death"? There are a couple of us in the Lower Mainland with resurrected 2100's, we might be able to help you out. Randy

    Melted 41

I had a gasket on the muffler but it appears the leak from the muffler was right at the split in the shell. A nice line about 2" long right below the split line in the muffler. Everything was VERY tight was well....

    Melted 41

I bought a used Husky 41 a short while ago. I had some issues with it, it turned out to be the crankcase seals. I replaced them and the saw ran fine......for a day...until it melted a giant hole in the oil tank. I think I recall reading that this happened to someone else. The saw doesn't havea...

    Husky 41 problems

Figured out my problem It turns out the problem was the crankcase seals, $6 later and it runs sweet. Now I have a good running tree climbing saw. I know it's a "Homeowner" saw but the price was right.

    Husky 41 problems

I checked the metering lever height and it was level with the base of the carb body and I also checked the impulse nipple and fuel line. The impulse nipple is an odd design that I haven't seen before, I was a bit concerned about the fit between the nipple and the cylinder port so I put a small...

    Husky 41 problems

Before you go off and tell me a 41 is a waste of time I picked it up for cheap and need a little saw. It looked to be in very good condition with very little use. The guy didn't know much about it because he wasn't expecting me to want to buy it from him, I was there to help a friend load a...

    pictures, alum beam machine

Nice setup. I'm hoping you scrounged the bearing and extrusions from a pre-existing piece of equipment. That structural extrusion stuff can be quite expensive, I used to have access to loads of it until I changed jobs. Makes a great router table fence, bandsaw fence, miter gauge fence, chainsaw...

    Homemade Kiln

Thanks for the info Backwoods. Do you think a combo machine with Solar and DH would work fine without compromising the cell structure? I'm a bit concerned about the winter months and the lack of sunlight. I think in the peak of winter we get about 6 hours of daylight and the themps are around...

    Homemade Kiln

Very interesting read Bob. I suspect with information like that this little project of mine is going to get out of hand and I may end up incorporating an automated controls system if Nikko has any involvement. ;)

    Homemade Kiln

I did a quick search and came up with nothing in the archives. I'm pretty sure posting in the milling forum would be a good place to ask the question. Have any of you built home made kilns? If you have what have you built and why? I originally thought a solar kiln would be the best idea...

    Building a slab table...

Very nice table, I'd love to see the the finished product. I like the shape of the legs, I find many people ruin the overall look of slab furniture but putting conflicting legs or supports on the piece. From what I've seen you've done a great job. Please keep posting pics.

    Husqvarna 2100 vs 2101

I thought the 2101 used thinner rings on the piston then the 2100 did? If the saw was from out here I'd guess the W stood for Walkerized, but maybe the W stands for Wisconsin modified? Can you take pictures of it and post them?

    BIL Mill maxed (Pt1)

I'm about to expose my ignorance but isn't that what the forums for?:) Bob why do you use the rails for every slab rather than running on the freshly milled surface? Is there an advantage or a specific function to your design that requires this? Randy

    357XP Piston and Rings

I cleaned up the cylinder and it looks to be in pretty good shape however there is a little wear through the chrome near the exhaust port lip, should I be concerned about this? I bought the saw at an auction for $60, it was missing a filter cover and the carb was gummed up, I invested about $30...

    357XP Piston and Rings

I'm not sure how it happened, the saw must have started sucking air from somewhere and ended up running lean but I melted the piston on my 357xp when I was out playing with the Copper Beech with Nikko. Is the OEM piston kit from Bailey's worth the extra $100 or is the Golf or Meteor or...
