Whats the easiest to learn chain sharpener

I have tried many files & dremel setups but only make powder or sawdust after sharpening a chain, I need the EASIEST, dummy proof way to sharpen a chain. All my chains are 3/8 pico or low profile, I have been looking at Stihl 2in1 sharpener, seems to be easiest to learn. Does anyone have a...

How to determine proper size file or dremel stone for chain

I have 4 saws, 2-Poulan 42cc18", Greenworks 80 volt 18" & Sthil ms180 14". They all seem to have the same size chain, I have noticed the 5/32" dremel stones fit is a little loose. Should I be using a larger size, how do you determine the proper size? Poulan pro manual said use 5/32 so that's...

skip tooth or anti kickback for 80v cordless saw

Bought a new 80v cordless saw and started reading online reviews, some say replace the anti kick back chain others said a skip tooth would work. I don't think the cordless saw would pose much of a kick back problem, so what would be the best cutting type chain to buy for this low powered saw?

    Stihl numbers and letters

I have a MS170 and a 029 farm boss, I know the 170 is much smaller and seems it should be called a 017 or the 029 should be a 290. Is there a reason they are so different when the model usually means the size of the saw, and does the MS mean anything, is it a cheaper line. I know huskies have 3...

Husky 334t is this a real husky

I am still looking for a small saw to haul on my atv, I have found a used Husky 334t in a local classified ad. Before I go to look at It I need to know the value of a average fair to good condition saw. Also I have looked at new small huskys and they look to much like my poulan for my taste, so...

It was only a photo and the guy said he drilled out the 2nd hole I found the post by searching Poulan Pro 4620 post, I don't remember which one it was but It just showed a photo of where he used nuts instead of the plastic hand tighted wheel, for the 2nd hole (which had no nut) he used...

Looking at the new Huskies at Northern tool

Yes I did see a post where someone had a photo of a modified PP chain tensioner, I tried it last night and was back in business today you could use the old cover, just drill out the plastic on the second hole and throw the plastic wheelnut away and use two 8mm x 1.5mm nuts to hold the bar. It...

Are there two grades of Husqvarna saws

I looked at three new Huskies today, a 235, 435 and 450. The 235 remminded me of my Pouland, both 235 and 435 were hard to pull, much harder than the 450 (which and a larger engine). The 450 was much higher in price but the same bar length as the 435. Are there 2 grades of the Husqvarnas ? Does...

Looking at the new Huskies at Northern tool

I need a good saw to use around the house and field, I use a Poulan Pro now, it runs good but the chain adjustment system is a terrible system. I found 3 (like new) 235 Huskys on the clearance rack for $100, normally $200. These are as is (running) but no warranty, good price but it looks like...
