I had 22f a few mornings ago. Sometimes I feel like Alaska is warmer than the Central Oregon high desert.

    New to me - Timberwolf TW-P1 splitter w/ pics & 4-way Question

No idea why your 4 way is broke. Here is a pic of the correct wedge for you splitter, looks like the one you have. I would just weld yours back up and use it again.

How often do you clean your pipe?

Thanks for all the comments so far. I think my 12 year old stove is doing a pretty good job with the pine I burn. The wood is well seasoned that's for sure, and it seems some years I get less ash out of the pipe and less buildup on the cap. All I can think is that the wood I cut varies in...

How often do you clean your pipe?

Talking about your flue pipe here.. I have a free standing Lopi stove with a 6" double wall pipe, must be 18' or so long. I never burn more than 5 cords. I clean out the pipe before the season starts in September and then clean it once more in mid January. Usually it's got about 1" or more...

Water lines freezing when heating with wood in a mobile home?

My mobile home has a block foundation on the outside edge, with steel jack stands on the inside. Must be 2' of clearance from the ground. The block foundation has vents in it which I keep closed with styrofoam inserts. The only place I use heat tape is on the water connection coming out of...

I finally pulled the trigger on a new splitter.

Bad mouthing another company publicly just to make Timberwolf look good is just not good business sense. If I owned Timberwolf and this is how you represented me on a public forum... well you wouldn't be selling my products anymore. JMHO

I finally pulled the trigger on a new splitter.

Congratulation on your new splitter purchase! I have been looking at that model myself. I have been in steel fab for years and I'm thinking about building a new splitter for next season. When you get your splitter would you be willing to send me a few pics/info? I really like the design of...

The adjustment for the pressure relief is on the front of the valve just to the left of the levers. It is set standard for 2000psi.

    slowing down hydraulics

Put one of these flow controls in one of the lines of your lift cylinder. This model is a non-check type and will control the flow both ways, so it will slow down the lift up and down. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200339417_200339417 .

    Woodstove Recommendations?

12 years now on my Lopi Answer with no problems at all. Heats my 1350 sqft home really nice. Last winter we had -22 F and it kept us toasty. Before I moved here I had a Lopi Endeavour that was equally as nice, just a bit bigger. Good solid stoves IMHO.

    Spiltter rebuild issues

If you reversed the lines and got the same affect on the cylinder I would rule out a cylinder issue. Most likely a valve problem but with that pump you are not ever going to have a great splitter. You can get a Prince valve for $89 and a 2 stage 16 gpm pump for $135. Then you will have a...

acquired a new saw today. long post with pics.

Very clean looking 038. This is just the standard 038. Stihl made it in 3 sizes, yours (standard AVS), a Super, and a Magnum. Your saw is 61.0 cc, 3.72 cu.in., 4.0 hp,

    splitter rebuild

"Stage 2",.. made me laugh. I gave up on those wood handles a couple of years ago. Once you go to those new plastic (or whatever they are) handles you will never go back to wood.

    Season's first fire last nite

25 F here night before last but I didn't build a fire yet. Haven't done the pre-season stove pipe clean yet... I better get on it. 80 during the day and 20's at night, gotta love the high desert.
