I recently did a ms250c build and with just a slight muffler mod that thing would eat wood! 18in bar really balanced the saw out. Very easy to control, I was very impressed!

I just did 2 ms290 rebuilds and then a ms310 and just finished a ms390. Most of the parts will exchange

Im gonna say too lean...Husqvarna stats say 9k max. That's assuming max in the cut. If possible, safely record max rpm while having the bar buried in some wood and report back. I had trouble locating unloaded max rpm as well.
