    Anyone got an MS362 nearby?

I just went out an measured center to center of the bolts. (Just used a piece of paper and made a dot at each center then measured with a tape, so probably not exactly exact :)) Top bolts are 2 13/16" apart Bottom bolts are 3 1/8" apart Top to bottom LH side 2 15/16" Top to bottom RH side 2 7/8"

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

I might give that a whirl, but honestly I'm hoping for the day he tells me he's got a 261 so I can stop looking ;)

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

I'm shocked you located one in only two weeks of searching! I've been looking for one for my son forever, but I never see one come up anywhere. He's particular so it's got to be new. I told him he's probably going to end up with a 261, and that isn't a bad thing :)

    Sold Stihl MS241CM - $475.00 Shipped

So is it still available then? My boy is looking for something like a 241 or 261. I think he'd really like the 241, I don't have a lot of time in on mine but what I do has been a whole bunch of fun!

    Sick MS362

True..., but some of us became addicted - and just like rubber-necking at a car-wreck we had to keep checking in for our daily "fix"

    Want to Sell NIB ms361

Is this still available? I recently bought one and now I have a Nephew who might want one as well (if he doesn't pick up a 362 today...)

    I know it's not a chainsaw but

I have a Stihl FS90R that I've had 4 or 5 years (?) and it's been flawless. They don't show that in their lineup anymore, but they have a FS91R which I assume is the newer version. I've been real happy with it though, and was mentioning that to a friend of mine last year saying how it starts and...

    Best 50 cc saw available?

Yeah I think it is just an awesome value with the features they've put on it. I've had a CS-400 since '09 that I gave $191 for and I really like it a lot, but for about $80 more nine years later..., I think the CS-490 checks all the boxes. I'm gonna make a concerted effort NOT to neglect the...

    Best 50 cc saw available?

That's kinda the sense I got just handling it when it first arrived. I knew from the gate I was not going to run a 20" on it. But it is a nice option for the occasional need, if a guy didn't have another saw with longer bars.

    Best 50 cc saw available?

I've been doing a little work along my lane taking some Burr Oak and Ash trees down. The biggest today was 18" and mostly they were 12-14" trees. I went up there today with 3 saws - Stihl MS241c & MS361, and Echo CS-490. Only the MS241c has more than one tank of fuel through it, it's on tank...

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

Thanks! That seems to be the prevailing opinion in most all the archive stuff I've been able to dig up, so I'm good with it. Just needing the ground to firm up some now so I can get some hours on it :)

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

Yeah, and the internals all look exactly like the "new" style so that's what threw me. I've been pondering the sprocket thing BTW, and I am going to just do like many advised and just run this set-up until it's time to change the sprocket then decide what to do at that time. Right now I just...

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

I'm starting to feel some better after seeing a fair number of folks not really having a problem with the spur. Like you said, change it out down the line if need be. It seems so odd though that they put a decomp valve on these saws, and then put a spur like you'd expect to find on a...

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

Yes this same dealer told me that back then (and I'm sure he's just flat out wrong) and today he also told me they don't make a full wrap for the MS462 so.... ;)

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

Colt; When I made mention of initial post, I probably misled you - I was referring to my earlier post today after having bought the saw - wherein I first posed the question relative to the spur -v- rim thing. So at the bottom of the post I say "I assumed at the price point these things go for...

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

Well this whole spur -vs- rim thing has taken some of the luster off of it for me. Thing is, I'm certain the saw I looked at on the shelf yesterday had a rim, and the owners helper and I talked about it some. (which is why I asked the question about it in my initial post) Today the owner fueled...

Looking to buy a new saw

I don't know what your budget is, but if money wasn't a concern I'd think the 13# MS462 would be the bees knees! A 72.2cc saw with the weight of a 60cc. But they're spendy. (You only live once!) If you're wanting to spend not much money and are not brand averse, I'd imagine the 59.8cc Echo...

    MS241C Discontinued 2+ years ago?!

So I'm drinking the Kool-Aid this thread's selling, and started getting all concerned that the MS241C on my dealers shelf was going to get snapped up if I didn't act pretty soon. So I go in for a parley with said dealer, and he seemed fairly uninterested in doing any dealing - he has a price on...

    Help with Stihl 031 av

Nothing of value to add, but this thread brought back memories to me. I bought an 031AV in 1979 - used but like new from a guy who worked at the Hormel plant in Fremont, NE. I think the repetitive nature of his job on the line had caused what he termed as "holes" in his shoulders, and he just...

Toasted my clone ms660 on amsoil at 100:1

This is a pretty cool thread to me - just for reading entertainment on this snowy inside day. I like the OP's attitude - seems to have a smile on his face even while typing! For someone like me, (who's never going to do much more than a muffler mod) had I went to the trouble to build one like...
