Vine ID......who wants to cut this fencerow

Bill, someone beat me to it but you don’t need to go with Roundup. A triclopyr herbicide like Crossbow will kill the vines and other woody type brush but not kill your grass if you have any near there. Kill it, let it fall naturally. Too much potential for a very bad reaction there.

    Echo CS 590 Carburetor question

There’s a huge thread in the 590/620 somewhere and I’m sure that people have done that. I have a 620 so no need to swap parts but I have personally had bad luck with aftermarket carbs. If it’s a name brand Walbro or whatever that’s fine, but I seem to always find the “clones” that aren’t real...

Is it time for an Echo stickie?

Well, because I can’t leave things stock for long, I got some new dogs. Honestly, I wanted these because the first few times I used the saw I kept digging in and hitting the muffler on the logs. Not liking that, I think the extra distance will help. I have multiple bar lengths so it can be...

Anyone transported a chainsaw in commercial checked baggage?

TSA stateside leaves small engine equipment up to the discretion of the airline IF it is completely purged of all fuel, including vapors. If there is any fuel it is not allowed on a commercial plane as checked or carry-on baggage. So you should check the specific airline, as well as the...

It's starting - New California law bans ...

After thinking about this bit of legislation, I can all but guarantee it will be fraught with exemptions either in the text or by executive order/emergency decree where firefighters will be able to buy/use gas powered equipment, much like CA firearms laws. LEO can have whatever, but the Joe Kim...

    storesum carabiner?

Having bought a few things through Amazon and figuring out they were counterfeit, I can assure you I’d never use anything like this as a lifeline. Maybe to hold a tool lanyard to the harness but then you have opportunity to grab a one and use it for something where you need a secure tie in...

It's starting - New California law bans ...

Think of it like this, while that truck is running to a local fire, it’s using a fair amount of electric charge, but once it’s on scene, it only needs to power the emergency lights and a pump. Again, not a huge power suck compared to high load driving of a 50k lb truck. Now, like anything...

It's starting - New California law bans ...

They are coming. I’ve seen Altec utility trucks (think digger derricks and bucket trucks). I work for a truck OEM, and while EV isn’t core business, it will be. The main hurdle is charging infrastructure and for locally based fleets, it isn’t quite the big ordeal. Over the road, yes, but...

What Size Chainsaws Are IDEAL for Trimming Hedges??

If you are real and asking these kind of questions then you probably shouldn’t be writing about them at this point. This is akin to me writing about commercial pilot ops as a student pilot. Posting topics to multiple message boards and compiling the info on your own site isn’t really much...

What Size Chainsaws Are IDEAL for Trimming Hedges??

I just started googling this OP’s name, it appears he’s an “author” for a site called powertoolsavvy. Everything he’s posting here is also on that site as well as Reddit. The address on that site checks out as a house in El Paso, but I’m suspecting this is an AI bot harvesting info here and...

Echo's customer service is pretty bad

Slugger, I don’t know what to say about your dealer, and having to order a saw that was supposedly 3 years old, but I think that you should reach out to the dealer first and give them a chance to make it right. I picked up a 620PW this week that I waited a month for and it was brand brand new...

Is it time for an Echo stickie?

Well, it finally arrived. This thing isn’t common in my area of Northern Illinois evidently. The shop seemed surprised when it was brought up to the counter for me. Can’t wait to break it in tomorrow and run some tanks through it before a muffler mod and possibly a Stoeckel filter.

Bandit 15xp with psi 5.7 gas engine opinions

Hey Jay, it’s been a while since posting this but figure if you still want direct input, we use PSI as a supplier for a small number of engines and I work in the aftersales part of the business. While I don’t handle them as a supplier, I’d pass based off my coworkers that do. We’ve had...

Please help identify vintage military chainsaw case/holder/mount

I think the pictures could get you some info on a forum called SteelSoldiers. It’s a military vehicle forum and a ton of knowledge about all sorts of equipment.

Want to Sell Timberline sharpener system

I bought this when I was pretty green then a friend showed me how to file on my own. I haven’t used this in years so it’s time to let it go. It’s in great shape and comes with the following carbides: 5/32” for 3/8”LP chain, 3/16” for .325, and 7/32” for 3/8” chain. It also has the 25 and 35...
