    MS 362 opinions

Thanks Brad, but I was hoping to hear something directly from Sawtroll. He seemed quite assertive in his judgement of this saw. One would presume that he could cite some facts/specs/market trends that support, or even drive his position. I'll repeat my question so Sawtroll doesn't miss it...

    MS 362 opinions

Sawtroll, What are the specific elements of the 362 that render it 'outdated' already?

Stihl switching to fuel injection soon?

I think you just described 'mechanical charge stratification'. :)

    Realistic expectations of a chainsaw?

First off....this isn't directed at you personally, sawinredneck (I've never met you), but your post seemed the logical one for my comment.... I think it's ironic that we (I'm including myself here) complain about a saw that weighs a pound or two more than it's competitors, but will tolerate...

    Can i stir the pot

I don't see why not. I believe that a number of folks have demonstrated that you don't have to actually 'own' or even try running given saw to know for sure that it's just not any good. :)

    list of build off's

Yes.....who's going to break down and buy a dyno so we can get some objective measurements/comparisons? :) Thanks for putting all these in one place....I was a bit confused with all the different build off threads.

Mixed gas with a red tiint

FWIW, I recently bought a gallon jug of the 'orange' Stihl pre-mix, expecting that same black/blue/green color that I'd been seeing for years. Imagine my surprise when I mixed up my first batch and the 'Klotz look-a-like' red oil came out of the bottle. I called Stihl to see if I may have...

Observations between ethanol and real gas

I, for one, think it would be AWESOME if the EPA had a way to reduce the CO2 emissions produced by some people. :)

Square chain, I ain't ever going back to round!

Is square grinding something that can be applied to semi-chisel chain or does this only apply to full chisel chain? Thanks!

Pop ups and windows. Your thoughts.

Thanks for the civil answer. I suppose I hadn't noted the quality of the surface finish....etc. I just took a quick glance at his ad and noted that he was selling a rather expensive 'ported' saw. That's about where I jumped in and asked to be 'caught up'. I didn't realize it was so easy to...

Pop ups and windows. Your thoughts.

Not sure I understand the question here???? To rephrase my first post.... This guy on eBay seems to be doing all the stuff that I see in 'porting' threads here on AS. I was confused why everyone was speaking poorly of his work. I feel like I'm missing the joke......that's why I asked.

Pop ups and windows. Your thoughts.

Catch me up..... Why, again, is everyone bashing this ebay seller? He seems to be performing the standard "treat the engine like it's a V-8 cylinder head", 'port' job that goes over so well here on AS. Is the bashing because his pricing is out of line?

More reason to run higher oil to fuel ratio?

This simply isn't true. The reason the 'strato' engine uses less fuel is because it wastes much less unburned fuel out the exhaust port. The mixture inside the combustion chamber during ignition doesn't automatically 'have to' be 'leaner' just because the engine uses less fuel. That being...

Stihl switching to fuel injection soon?

I haven't seen anything factual, but I've 'heard' from some friends working in the industry that Stihl owns Zama....but not Zama USA. Who knows?

    DIY E0 Pump Gas

Away from the world of chainsaws, 2-stroke tuners typically agree that one needs some sort of expansion chamber exhaust to create enough BMEP (Brake Mean Effective Pressure) to cause detonation as a result of an octane deficiency(at pump gas levels). Most of us don't mess with saws that have...

Very interesting. Thanks for pointing this out. Now off to do some reading.....

Thoughts like this display the whole 'engine mod' thing in a whole new light. :) Sorry....I grew up on Beavis and Butthead.

    DIY E0 Pump Gas

I've found lots of threads expressing concern/disdain over the ethanol in pump gas. Here's an old trick of removing it from fuel.....I wasn't sure how many of you were aware of this so I found a link to post.... Modelgasboats.com - RC Boats Magazine - "How Too" remove ALCOHOL from pump gas ....
