    How neccessary is sun to dry firewood?

    Agreed.Here we pile splits,rounds in the open where the timber can get full sun,plenty of wind.No covers, wood seasons quicker in the open even if it gets rained on.No snow here to worry about :biggrin:If u can make ur pile to season on a ridge exposed to the elements it will dry heaps...

    166 s/dolmar is used all day on big hardwood trunks,blocks big rounds quick,big forks are at least quartered to split efficiently into saleable wood,I don,t cut much limb wood cause logs arrive clean ,no limbs.. in big sawlog size already limbed.Smaller trunks ,say 18 to 24 inch are blocked...

    Red ironbark,woollybutt,grey box, red mahogany and other select eucs,selling firewood ya gotta test it ,any excuse to start burning wood :laugh:Hope to move roughly 350 to 450 ton before September,this winter is predicted to be extra cold with EL NINO here.:cheers:
