You say the 600 was very nose-heavy. How is the overall weight? My Echo 670 is not a lightweight, it balances a bit nose heavy with a 24" setup but that works out great for bucking up firewood letting the saw do the work.

These are the saws I learned with. No chain brake on the SXL and the 10-10 was either broken or disabled. Nowadays they are just memories. I think I have a couple of Homie XLs around here....

Another good ole Stihl saw. It will handle a 20 in bar in softwood. Good for those younger than me. MS whatever will be much more comfortable for us guys over 50.

:clap: :clap: Please let us know how that 670 mod works out...I have a couple of them and think they have way more potential than they show stock.

One of the wire connectors (blue?) might work. I used one to adjust my 141 after a muffler mod. You may have to remove the top cover and the piece that attaches to the carb around the H-L screws. A new non-catalytic muffler is always an option.

Experts Now here we have another expert with all the right answers for the others. This is when I get sceptical. Personal experience over time usually turns out to have a solid basis. High quality 40:1 mix in chainsaws has worked for me over many years...actually 42:1 is what it turns out...

AAAHHHH!!! not the old ones...they were just bulletproof workhorses. And man were they LOUD!! They sounded and smelled like a saw should. Always could depend the used plugs (at least one a week) for fishing weights. Them was the days....:cheers:
