    Harbor Freight Electric Chainsaw Sharpener...

I bought one for $29 and it works just fine on the Stihl saw. It is not an Oregon for $180 to $350. I cannot buy a sharpener for 10X the price for a homeowner; the sharpener would be more then my MS290 with mods! Anyone with half-a-brain can set-up and use and work very nicely too. It is...

    Thinking of trying amsoil saber

Wondering how was Amsoil really ever clear on their PAO basestock? Also why are you stuck on the POA (group 4) use? I would care more about there percent use of esters (better then PAO) and adds more. It is really a complete mix of an oil that makes or breaks it. Amsoil has grown a lot...

    Thinking of trying amsoil saber

But Amsoil does not only use PAO so what make it an issue? Amsoil is better in my eyes then Mobil. Call Mobil CS and they are a joke. Call Amsoil Tech Service and get a real answer. Mobil copied Amsoil back in the day and stopped. Then stated again. That lost creditability in my eyes. For my...

    Thinking of trying amsoil saber

No, I am saying lots of people use it at 100:1 since THAT is what it was designed for. If Amsoil had lean piston issues etc, it would be all over the net. Mfg most times are outdated on Amsoil spec etc. Heck, I still have Kubota telling me synthetic you cannot extend oil changes. So now a group...

    Thinking of trying amsoil saber

Amsoil comes in many differant types. There lower class fluids are a blend (grp 3)...The higher end stuff is PAO and ester based. You will not have issues with Saber if used correctly. Can you use at 50:1, sure, but 100:1 is 100% fine.

Bought a new Stihl MS 290 Farm Boss

I agree but, for me, I want to make the best out of my ms290. I looked at all my Shindawa and Echo mufflers and they are almost wide open..Then you have this ms290 little opening...I am not a pro and the MM and carb deal will make you money (aka less time) work for you. I could careless on the...

I agree. on the mod. I bought a new Ms290 1 month ago. 4 tanks gas later, did the muffler mod and adj carb....WAY fast cuts! Love it now... The Muffler opening is a joke...If the saw breaks within the warranty it is a junk saw period...Running at 100:1 using Amsoil saber. Same as my backpacks...
