    Shindawa 345 F/S - Worth $150? Opinions appreciated.

Per request. First locked up saw I’d repaired after it was straight gassed by a relative. He gave it to me for free. Very little transfer. Cleaned up and new rings, runs great. Noodling a sveedish candle. Storm damage cleanup with it and the 441C.

Is there some kind of belt guard for it? My safety moment for the day.. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Three days from December...

Yea, see it has been. Sad though that political discussion has reached a point to where it has to be put off into the corner for all the yelling and hollering. And btw, we actually may be getting back to a normal temp for this time of year, supposed to get down into the low teens by the...

Stihl Dealer full throttle on my new MS 391?

My dealer did this with the MS-362 to check for oil, and I guess listen to the tune, but only for a few seconds. He just handed me the 441C off the shelf, no fuel or anything in it, guess he figured it was already tuned, lol. But I agree, I've never went to full load or full throttle after...

    Three days from December...

It was 70* here today, yet to see the first big snowfall, we are weeks behind where we should have been w/ low temperature. There are still leaves on the trees. Something is amiss, I don't think this is the Chinese trying to steal our manufacturing jobs..... I love the snow, but may soon...

Saw running with plug wire off!?

Ouch, I'd take a peek down the plug hole at the cylinder walls to see if is toasted, without that cover, bet that saw was quite warm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Show me your chainsaws

Yea, some of these are quite valuable. I know that when mine were stolen, that I was reimbursed under the homeowners policy, but the MS-362 was a newer saw that I'd had a receipt on, and received full purchase price for it. The other saws were reimbursed for what I valued them at, but all...

    Show me your chainsaws

Does anyone carry insurance on their saw collection, or does the homeowners policy cover them? Course know a few of these aren't replaceable, but was wondering. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    You burning yet?

Fired it up this morning for the first time to heat the garage. Was low 20's here this morning, but up near 60 by evening, so let it go out instead of reloading. We should have seen our first snow weeks ago, sure has been warm this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have I been tuning saws wrong

I tune the H so that it isn't four stroking in the cut, and starts to when lifting out of cut. To me that is a safe tune, and while I did experiment with a cut or two on the Quake saws with a lean tune, I couldn't tell that much difference in that and my settings. There was a small increase...

    Is this a beech?

Dropping any beech nuts? Having a beech and a birch in the yard within close proximity of each other, can say that most resembles the beech. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Need a string trimmer

Best one, but can't get these new anymore. Stihl FS-250. Those Shindy T-25's mentioned above are great small trimmers too. My older Redmax BC3200 is a nice unit also, but not sure of the newer ones. Have run the 223l trimmer, and they are very light, and have pretty good power for the...

    What's your truck saw

Was the 38cc Earthquakes, but they were all lost to the flood... Need to start looking around for a cheap saw though to carry around, the quakes were perfect for that, and held up well, but prices for new are now too high. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    You burning yet?

Started a decent fire in the 1557, got it up to 400* and baked in the paint. But am really gonna have to get to foraging for some wood. Will be snowing before long, though really already should have had that, this year has been abnormally warm..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Service Pro bar oil

Used vegetable oil for the Earthquakes. Worked fine, and at $3/gal, was cheap too. Do NOT leave it sit in the saw however, when it ages and hardens, its impossible to get off. If storing, I'd drain it and run some bar oil through it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I killed the only Stihl I ever liked

Guy here said that he couldn't get his grass trimmer started after sitting a while and wanted me to come look at it. Pulled it over and could hear that the muffler was clogged. Sure enough, looked inside and it was completely clogged with mud. Removed the muffler, washed it out, and it...

MS180C refusing to be dismantled - nightmare!

Since appears as if another piston stop bending the connecting rod problem, what other ways to hold it? I've used a strap wrench on the flywheel (yea, even a screwdriver), but with the apparent dangers of stopping the piston, may not be much other way to hold it if the removal tool overcomes...

    Circular saw recommendations? (I know it's a bit off-topic)

+1 on the 20v dewalt cordless. Bought it with the drill and impact driver on Prime day, and got a great deal on the set. Works well, and has surprisingly good power. Thought it would end up more of a toy like thing, but easily cuts a 2x4 no problem. Been thinking of adding the recip. saw...

    You burning yet?

Started a small fire to cook off the new paint smell after refinishing my 1557 garage furnace that was hit by the flood, since hadn't hooked the ducting yet. Didn't get it very hot though, about 200* or so, but was so hot in the outbuilding by the afternoon that the fans wouldn't turn off, had...

    Best sounding/loudest chainsaw

The Mac 10-10s sounds pretty good I think, what I think an "old timer" saw would sound like (unfortunately was buried in a flood, need to try and get it running again). Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
