    MS270 does its duties!

Nice from you;) But about 270/280 series place and value a disagree a littlebit wit yo... Both have their place as good saws not at high price... With MS270 in basic configuration you win much more money than lost the power compared to MS280 and both they are cheaper than MS260 and very...

    024

024 evolved to MS240. It is advertised as a saw with extra longliving engine, probably more durable than MS260...

    adivce on a new saw

Not specified tree diam for MS270/280... A little confusing is that MS390 is described as a saw with classical design (plastic) and MS230 as a saw with good p/w ratio. There are some other wierd things also, like MS460 is saw with large power for harvesting of mid diam forests and for...

    Stihl MS270C

Welcome to AS ... dont worry, MS270 is a good saw. Nothing special to look on this model. Look that carb is set right and not too lean, keep chains sharp and go...

    adivce on a new saw

Here in Stihls 2007 catalog now all saw models are listed Its interesting how some models are described MS230 - very good power/weight ratio. Ideal for sawing firewood and tree care, felling up to 30cm trees. MS240 - extremely durable engine. Suited for care of young forests, and for firewood...

    adivce on a new saw

This is quite normal that chainsaw freaks are talking for a big saws to eviryone here. In reality, homeowner can do with 50cc saw all his wood cuttings. Here I agree wihh NapalmDeath that nothing wrong with MS270. Smooth saw, great AV. This is a little nonsence that some are talking about...

what s wrong with this 280?

270/280 carbs have something additional acceleration circuit (pump-jet?) as much I know. This can cause a such problem...but if carb was replaced and problem stayed...no idea...

    Diffrence between SEEDLINGS and TRANSPLANTS

In forests, picea abies is the second species next to pinus sylvestris as being leader here. It is widely used as a wind-snowbreak and hedge tree here. It is rather forest tree, but can grow in open site too, where in youth it is prone to cold (we have cold winters) damage and on dry soils...

Is my tree on the verge of falling over?

If the lean is not pointing to house or to other critical points then the supporting cable(s) and after that the one-time strong flooding of the soil around the trunk to tighten it and after that the slight addition of some additional soil, if cavity forms can help to the tree..

Pine wood mulch = hardwood mulch

Treeser, nice :) . Our clays here are limestone rich and rather alkaline. Talking about mulch, I remember one case with big oak here, were the border of its canopy was exactly and sharply projected onto the potato field in the form of stunted plants under canopy. So, it wasnt only problem of...
