Try the vermeer dealer. I buy them for my Bandit chipper at a decent price.
Tennesee saw and knife also has decent pricing. Never dealt with them though.
There is no polarity on the magnets...either wire can be positive or negative.
Just don't hook the controller itself up with the wrong polarity.
Can't tell for sure but from the pic..may be time for new magnets.
Did you leave the trap door open while chipping? If not, try it.
Belt driven hydro pump? If so, check the belt.
Have the hydraulic pressure checked. It has to be adjusted once in a while.
280 light duty:

single axle
140 max horsepower
280HD:
weighs about 13,000#
dual axle
213 max horsepower
Both machines are 18" capacity
That's alot of machine for a small truck to pull...even with the duramax.
Price isn't bad.
That's the light duty model...you may find that it lacks power to chip large material if you do alot of it.
I loved the work and saw that there is good money to be made in it.
Could you tell me how you saw that there was good money to be made?
Did you see the invoice and come to that conclusion?
Not trying to be funny,...would really like to know.
