If you want it more even you can run just your furnace fan full time and it will even things out. Some like to sleep cold though.

I wouldnt install that valve. I like the idea that if something were to happen and the fire went out and my furnace kicked on, that it would partially heat the boiler water to keep it from freezing.

Does it have water in it now? If not take out the inlet and outlet and you can see inside the water tank, look for corrosion. I gave 4k for a 10k model the 400dcs with alot of extra stuff. 2 garage heaters and lots of pex.
