Hi there & welcome to AS. Thanks for bringing up a good, older, thread.
An owners manual can be had from Homelite.com. Just call their 800#
and make a request. It's free. IPL (parts breakdown) can also
be had online, google for parts. May have to shuffle through a few
sites, but it's...
038 stihl
Welcome to this site. Novice myself. 3/1 is good to go.
I play with smaller eaws-50cc/14"-16", but I'm not all that knowing.
Think 28-32/skip chain. someone smarter than will chime in soon.
solo
Hi there, not sure on 636, but I have 2 older 647's.
325-3/8 b&c. Gone through both completely, even though they
didn't need it. Simple, well engineered saws. Mcflea has a good
example of SOLO saw on his site. 100cc "stihl killer".
new
I too am interested in Echo 346-440 saws. Prices seem
good as the summer wears on.
But the bar size bothers me.
33cc 16" bothers me.
45cc 18" bar bothers me.
No mention of chain size, guess .325.
Since a b&c might run $30-50, I'm bothered.
I usually run 50cc saw, 16" bar...
more or less newbie.
Was offered an echo limb pruner,
14 ft., small motor. works good.
Cut's quick. Homeowner use.
I live a wooded area.
Is it worth $300,ya think ?
Get tired of ladder, handsaw.
Thank you'al.
Good Site..........
